Harvey's island?

In the sneak peak picture you can see Harvey has his cabin on an island. What do you think that will be about and what you can? Maybe similar to NL?

I've heard (through speculation videos) that the island may be the possible location for amiibo action? I'm hoping that flight options are an unlockable through our Nook Miles objectives.

I'm hoping it's some sort of residence for villagers visiting the island that we can eventually convince to move in.

I saw people wondering if the RV's from New Leaf making a comeback in New Horizons, so maybe this will be the place where they appear? At least it would makes sense if you want to use for example the Welcome amiibo series of amiibo cards where the villagers showing up in their RV's. Harvey's island also looks quite big enough for something like that.

I just recently realized that the hawk/eagle villager named Pierce's catchphrase is "hawkeye" lol. I <3 mash.

I don't know how to feel about the idea of people driving an RV to a deserted island.

Well, the island will not stay deserted forever once Nook brings you there, so... Also, it seems Harvey has his own island here which is not deserted as ours perhaps? After all, he already got his house there as seen on the picture.

Besides, this was just a thought of mine. Could also be that the RV villagers from the Welcome amiibo card series will show up in tents or something like that if RV's doesn't fit into NH's theme.

one of my friends in an animal crossing discord group actually had the idea that RVs will be changed into boat houses! that way they are still island themed and less confusing how an rv gets onto a smaller island without a huge boat.

I'm guessing the island will have amiibo RV (boat houses? yachts for the fancy ones? lol) capabilities again. They'll probably make new amiibos as well with the new game, so I think Harvey's purpose will stay the same for the most part. However, since it looks to be a whole other island I have a hope that it will be something more. I'm thinking maybe it could be an online trading hub of sorts? For example, like Harvey has his own tent with items that he sells at the campgrounds, maybe the players can also have their own tent set up with a shareable code (QR or numbers like a dream code) so that if others enter that number they can buy certain items off you like a marketplace. Maybe this is also accessible through nintendo app? And of course, if players visit your town/Harvey's island they can buy it directly off your marketplace as well like Retail (maybe Cyrus and Reese could live there? or other NPCs?) I'm just thinking that it would be nice to have multiple ways of making trades online rather than needing another player to visit your island and "drop their stuff off on the floor" kind of thing. I mean, the way we've always been trading is fine to me as well but an alternative/additional method could be good too!

That's actually a pretty cool idea, didn't thought about boat houses. They are even better than those RV's and like you said fit to the island theme. Now I kinda hope NH has something like this to offer.

I assume the island is the interface between New Horizons and Pocket Camp.
Both have RVs.

I think it will probably be something similar to how it was in new leaf. But maybe instead of the villagers camping in rvs like they did in new leaf maybe there will be a few cabins the villagers can stay in like the one that is showing in the picture. I think that would make more sense because if it is also an island and not the mainland how did the rvs get there.

What I really mean is Harvey and all the amiibo visitors aren't going to drive an RV to an island. That's not possible unless their RVs are half motorboat.
