Has anyone ever screwed up when doing the introductory stage in New Horizons?

When I first played Animal Crossing: New Horizons in October of last year, I was doing the introductory day where Tom Nook requests finding apples and sticks, I did those things. I was near finished and I decided to take a break, and when I was going to play again, my Switch somehow turned off this entire time, causing me my little progress and having to start over, luckily, it was only the introductory day, so it wasn't a big deal. The only downside was that I lost memories of my actual first starters, all because I didn't play far enough to save the progress, silly me. Do not be me.

ahhh that stinks! this wasn't from the startup stage but when i reset my island, a few months later it was new years eve, and i missed the countdown so i tried just time travelling back a few minutes to see it, but forgot to change the year back and skipped ahead a whole year!! so that messed up my island big time, but like, you live and you learn! 😂

YES 😭
I messed up at quite literally the beginning of the game, where you have to decide your name/island name/map layout/personal info/etc.

I really wanted to get the character customization part and was kind of rushing through the other stuff, so when it came time for the passport picture and it finally took me to the character customization screen, I accidentally confirmed the placeholder character that was there, and that was my passport pic and rep's design for a little until I could get to the nearest mirror 🥲

I also messed up in the beginning of the game I thought it would be a good idea to play it late at night after work instead of early next morning. I had to keep restarting as I wanted certain layouts.

I don't think I screwed up during that sequence. Neither did my mom (I'd know as I watched her during that whole thing). The closest thing either of us did to screwing up was my mom spending way too much time by picking up every weed she could see. Even then, that wasn't necessarily "screwing up" since the introduction was still rendered playable.

Thankfully, I haven’t screwed up YET in NH, but I have in other games, specifically GC because I was a kid for most of when I played it. I never fished or caught bugs lol
