Has anyone had luck spawning scorpions?

Ever since June came around I have not been able to spawn scorpions on other islands anymore. Fireflies and mosquitoes take up all the bug spawns now. I've tried 10 times now and it seems like the game isn't allowing the conditions to force spawns for scorpions anymore. Or the technique I was using isn't working anymore that is. Anyone else having this problem?

I gave up on DIY scorpion islands a while ago when they nerfed the tarantula/scorpion spawn rates. Sorry, I wish I had some useful information to help you out regarding this.

As for other ways to make bells, I've been getting a decent number of sharks and dorados on my island lately, and that's currently my best source of bells that I can make from catching things. I know it's nothing like the glory days back in March when we were walking around with pockets full of tarantulas, but you know, the wheel keeps turning.

To me it's not as much fun, but you can do pretty good in the Stalk Market if you're part of a decent network of online players. Personally, I don't like to play online with strangers but my wife and son also play the game, and between the three of us so far we've always managed to make a profit.

Also, here's a link to a calculator that will predict your turnip prices for you, if you enter the prices that Timmy and Tommy offer you during the week:

You can use the calculator to maximize the return on your turnips because it tells you in advance when the best prices will occur. The calculator doesn't return an exact price, but will give you a likely range of prices. The calculator uses information from the previous week to guess the turnip prices in the current week. As long as it gets good data, I've found that the calculator is very helpful.

That's all the info I have to share, good luck with that mortgage!

It's raining on my island right now and had 2 scorpions spawn within a 5 minute span. I could be wrong, but maybe scorpions are more common when it rains?

Honestly, I am happy that scorpions aren't common. because unlike tarantulas, I am actually afraid of them (even though they do the same thing in game)

scorpions are more common when it rains?
if scorpions are anything like tarantulas, I think that yes, they are. I don't know where I heard it but I do remember that someone was excited to check a mystery island when it rained because of the increased chance of getting tarantulas

I was running around my island and literally ran across a scorpion that just seemed to ignore me LOL that was the only time I encountered a scorpion on my island since they came in the northern hemisphere. They do seem to spawn less than tarantulas. I haven't tried DIY scorpion hunting though.

I haven't tried spawning scorpions on mystery islands since the nerf, and I've only seen 2 natural scorpions during night time, which does appear like a smaller spawn rate than tarantulas. Then again I'm in the northern hemipshere so that might be part of the reason?

I think I have seen three. They definitely don’t spawn as much as tarantulas did, it seems that they’re very sparse amounts of them on my personal island.

If you can get lucky and land on a Bamboo island when it's raining, you can try to force it to spawn. You won't get the water bugs or the mosquitoes spawns. Just pick all the flowers, break the rocks, and cut down the coconut trees.

Lately, I've been seeing them more often on my island. But I do remember prior to the patch, scorpions (then tarantulas) were everywhere. My recommendation would be to just go to a mystery island tour, and just destroy everything (cut down trees, pick flowers, remove stumps). The spawn frequency isn't as high as it was before, but if you wander around, you will certainly get some scorpions here and there. I do miss when it was so much easier to farm them, nowadays, it's so common to see the tiger beetles now instead.

I haven't gone on mystery island tours in a while - no point really, now that there are no longer hybrid islands and I've crafted most of my furniture by now to where I don't need to go off my island for resources. The one time I tried to do a tarantula island it didn't work - it was a money rock island and this was post-nerf. I got a ton of water bugs and mole crickets, not much else.

Lately I have gotten a few scorpions on my island where for a long time I never got any - I suspect it's because I've made my roads and areas more stretched out now so there's more flat land. Tbh I'm glad I don't run into them often, I really don't like the scorpions, they give me the spooks. I get obsessive thoughts of one running up to me and stinging me in real life. Not fun.

I have still have pretty good luck spawning them by doing the bamboo island method! I only do it sometimes when I'm bored or have Flick.
For me personally, that method is just about the same as it was before they nerfed them as long as I get rid of the palm trees too, and I feel that they appear at a similar rate as long as I am being mindful about getting rid of tiger beetles and etc. Of course some nights are luckier than others so it's hard to say, and I only do it on bamboo islands.

I think it's still worth the trouble if you have nothing else to do, especially now that there are sharks! :)

Everytime i get a scorpion in Oaktown, I fail to hit it with a net and get stung, I HATE them!!!

My experience with making scorpion (and tarantula too) island has just been pretty bad. Cleared out a whole bamboo island, and found like one or two scorpions every ten minutes. I gave up after spending an hour and a half and catching 10 😓.

They are! The rain puts down most of the other bugs, so scorpions appear a little more often. If you can find a bamboo mystery island at night when it's raining, you still have a chance to farm a decent number of scorpions. Do mosquitos spawn in the rain?

I've seen 2 in the past few days. I tried making a scorpion island on the nmt island but had no luck after 2 hours :')
