Has anyone used the island restore feature?

Has anyone here restored their island after losing or breaking their switch?

I could use some advice from anyone with experience. My mom just got a new switch after losing her old one. Her island is backed up online and my understanding is that we need to call Nintendo customer support tomorrow to have it restored. I have been trying to read up on it but I am not sure if I am missing anything. Any stressful stuff will make her sick, but she won't let me do it for her, so I would be grateful for any advice that will help things go smoothly. She is looking forward to playing again now that she is finally recovering from radiation.

I've done an island recovery through Nintendo Support. It's a really simple process, just tell them you are calling to have your save restored onto a new system and don't have access to the old one. They'll set it up on their end and then walk you through the steps to download the save onto your new system. It took only a few minutes when I did it.

Amazing! I was worried that there would complicated bits in the middle and it would have made her anxious to wait while I looked things up. I am trying really hard to make things easy for her right now--she still has trouble with nausea if anything stresses her out--and your reply means a lot to me. Thanks so much!
