Hey, i've been pretty up to date with the hacking community, and i'm worried. I myself have hacked my wii and installed a channle known as the Homebrew Channle. This is designed to run various applications, or "homebrew." These applications do any number of things, as they are all created by different people. Now im worried about an application known as Ocarina. It is a simple homebrew that basicly is an Action Replay. Ir runs code to maniuplate a game. The code can be created by anyone. I can gurantee that thier will Infinite Bell cheats. But seeding cheats may happen. But Nintendo is ever lasting in thier effort to stop homebrew, so I don't know what they will do in the future. Also luckily the homebrew channle is a bit complicated to install and use and is not known by many people. So most people wont be using it. And even though I have it, I wont be using it for ACCF. EVER!

I am not scared. Unless a hacker gets into my town, I am safe!

Good choice! What's the point of play Animal Crossing if you just use "infinate bells" or anything else? That would just take the fun away. I did it for Wild World, it totally sucked out the fun..then my Action Replay broke...haha.

Right, I hacked in Wild World, and it totally ruined it for me! Don't want that to happen again!

The first thing you do with the game is get an update. Last I remember, people with homebrew don't update.

That is true for the most part. When you update to a certain version, theres a way for Nintendo to read your software. If they find malicious code (Homebrew) They brick your internet. But homebrew is always updating, with new ways to avoid Nintendo's eyes. I havn't checked recently, but I believe there is new ways to hide.

I am scared to. I have the channel, and i dont want the H.B. Channel to disappear and i dont want seeders!

Well, this is a certain update. I have homebrew and the update affected me in no way.

Nintendo doesn't care as long as they have their money. But from what I see, the update had no affect on me but it doesn't matter anyways. The worst it can do is not allow you to install Homebrew itself, which is what they last update did. But that was fixed thank God.

Anyways, this doesn't really affect you guys.. But I'll be hacking it myself if something good comes along. No bell cheats, but hopefully the hackers will find hidden music, items, or just things that were left out of the production that we can put into the game. It'd definitely be worth it to hack for small stuff like that.

Anything else - I don't care for.

edit: Stop panicking, if you already have Homebrew installed you should be fine with getting AC:CF.

It's just a small update to let you use Wii Speak anyways.

As someone who has hacked all of the games, I can be certain that ACCF will be hacked, and within the month. Especially with Ocarina.

There's really no reason to stress about it if you only allow trusted people on your FL. I won't be hacking for months and months, if I ever do.

Alright, I just did some research. Updating won't hurt, and even if it did, theres an app that can bypass all that. This is off topic, but the only to really get your wii bricked, is to mess with WADS and not know what your doing. Which raises my original point, hacking could still be a problem. But I wouldnt worry, it'll be rare, no where near as bad ACWW got.

May need to read up a bit on that, haha. The hacker community has there own custom updates for many things, including the latest update, so you can keep you're homebrew channel and have the needed updates for everything else. The Animal Crossing update isn't even needed anyway. ;) Really sucks though with the ocarina app like stated :/

I'm scared to let any hackers into my town..
I suppose that this could happen, but like others mentioned, i got an update, so it should help just a bit for the meantime. I'll just be sure to know who I'm letting into my town.. I signed the gentleman's agreement. :]
