have you ever been bitten by a swarm of fire ants?

I was wiping dirt off the water meter yesterday afternoon and a swarm of fire ants bit my hand and wrist.

Is anyone here an Uchi with medicine for me??

no but at the age of 6 i almost died from wasps

we were looking at vacation homes and i was wandering the front yard and in typical child fashion i stomped an ant pile but surprise it was a wasp hive and we were FAR from a doctor i was stung about 14 times and was very close to dying XDDXDXDXD

no. i only see fire ants in trees and we have no trees soo.. but i hate ants in general.. tiny black bugs.. eww

Yep, several times.

One time when I was a child, I was playing outside and I accidentally laid down right ontop of a fire ant pile. I got bit 30+ times on my back, chest, and arms.

Nope, not fire ants.

I think the only insects I was being attacked by are mosquitoes.

I've gotten bitten by an ant (just one ant) when I was really young but I don't think it was a fire ant.

I've seen them before but since I had been bitten by a different type of ant before seeing them I knew to avoid them and thankfully never been bit by one.

nop, thank god. i once saw normal red ants as a kid and was confused.

Ouch. Sorry pal I've encountered fire ants in my yard before but never gotten bitten.

Use an ice pack to help reduce the pain, and some sort of hydrocortisone cream will help with the itching.

I think it was a hella bunch off piss ants, red ants whatever you call them over there. And yes it hurt having your feet covered with thousands of small itchy bumps D:

I stepped in a huge fire ant mound when I was 5 or 6 and thought I was just standing in soft dirt (I hated wearing shoes), until they started biting me all over my feet and legs. I had ant bites up to my knees and was itchy for days after that.

Not a swarm, but I have been bitten by fire ants before. The worst it had been for me was back in 2007-from 2006 to 2010, I was in Cub Scouts, and one day around the late summer or early fall of 2007, we were in an area where there was a swarm of fire ants near the church where we'd meet up (they're common here in Mississippi and in the South in general), and thankfully while I wasn't bitten by the swarm, I was bitten by some nonetheless.

It really burns when it bites you... One bite just hurts but if there is a lot of ants it would be dangerous if they begin to bite you. Here one can find some tips on how to get rid of ants.
