Have you ever misheard lyrics to a song?

”I’m friends with the mustard that’s under my bed” instead of “i’m friends with the monsters that are under my bed”.
I feel like this is a common misheard lyric but it doesn’t change the fact that im dumb ;-;

yes all the time, I have a hard time understanding people when they sing I guess. I always have to look up lyrics to a song I like to make sure I'm not confusing the lyrics and embarrassing myself if I ever sing a lot to it in front of other people.

I often mishear lyrics but not as bad as some people i know.

I think we are all familiar with the veryveryvery overplayed song "Thank You, Next"...

Well one time I was in the car with my aunt and my cousin was driving us to their house and that wrenching song came on and i was tuning it out and then my aunt started laughing hysterically for no reason. When asked what she was laughing about she said- "Im just trying to understand why Ariana Grande is so grateful for her EGGS"

Permanently pops up into my head every time that song comes on anywhere now lmao

Of course. Misheard I Found A Way (Drake & Josh theme) by Drake Bell. I think everyone did.

Thought a lyric was "It's gonna take some time to realize" ever since I was little, up until about half a year ago.
but it's actually "It's gonna take some time to realign"-

In Taylor Swift’s Blank Space, I thought she was saying:

Got a lot of starbucks lovers
They’ll tell you I’m insane
I always thought it was "God love 'em, Starbucks lovers" so you're definitely not alone lol.

I mishear song lyrics fairly frequently. One of my mom's favorite stories to tell about me growing up is that I always thought the lyrics to the chorus of TLC's Waterfalls were "go go, Jason waffles"

Weezer's "Hash Pipe" is another song whose lyrics I've misheard. I used to think that Rivers Cuomo said "I got my ass wiped, you got your big cheese". The supposed lyrics are "I've got my eyes (or is it actually 'ass'? Really sounds as if it could be either one) wide, you got your big Gs".

This line first appears around the 45 second mark:

Oh yeah, I mishear that too sometimes lol, gotta love Taylor’s creative writing

In English, surely because I don't all the time understand what they say (I mean... most of the time, I'm bad at listening that language especially in songs!)
In French, I have a funny fact. One day, I listened to a song of Michel Sardou called Les lacs du Connemara (or Le Connemara); it's a wonderful place in Ireland I had one time the chance to visit it. But I understood at first 'Le col des marins' which means, sorry because I use google translate for this one 'the sailors pass'; it looks pretty much the same when you say it. I try to find the song on Youtube and of course, it doesn't exist. Needed to ask my grandfather what was the song called 'Le col des marins'; I think he was laughing :ROFLMAO:
