liked a character from a franchise that you know nothing about?
Like, have you seen a character that piqued your interest and then watched the movie/played the game for said character and got into the series that way?
I've done it so many times. I always, always get into a series just for one character but then I end up liking some other character more than the one I got into the series for LOL
Yes, I can't think of any examples, but it happens a lot for me. I'll see a character that looks really interesting and consume the media for that reason alone. I also like a lot of characters / character designs from movies / games / etc. that I really don't like.
Smash helps a lot along with any other Cross-franchise all-star games like I learned who Ness was a LONG time ago from melee and smahs flash I also know who shulk is from smash but I haven't played his game
Happens all the time XD that's how I got into Gravity Falls (Bill Cipher), Five Nights at Freddy's(Springtrap), Undertale(Mettaton), Legend of Korra(Korra, duh), Life is Strange (Chloe)...
Especially with how much fandoms post about certain characters it's not hard to like a character from something you don't even know or care about. Before I even watched Supernatural I thought Dean was really cute and liked Cas a lot, just due to the gifs and scenes people would post about them on tumblr and the like. I did continue to like them and liked them more once I got into the series, but this happens with a lot of stuff. Sometimes, especially with cartoons/games I'll fall in love with a character design even though I know nothing about them. (Spoiler: They're usually the bad guy. XD)

I don't know how but I found an anime called cardfight vanguard and its like a card fighting game, which is so confusing to me, I never understood the game, but its got this character I love so much, what's worse is that he isn't is big character in the anime either which sucks, because he deserves to be. Its annoying cause he's never in the anime nowadays anymore.
To be honest, even though i know nothing about it, the anime has gone down hill recently, was a lot better before. Like they would have more emotion or more freinships inbetween the cardfighting.
I've done it a few times. I don't like black butler (it??? Censored the japanese title rofl ok) at all but Grell is my fave, and I will fight for her til the day I die. Also same goes with a lot of the enstars boys, i dont know a single thing abt them but i love the aes of their designs. Can't help it when i get attached to a character, i ride n die for em.
Actually before watching Gravity Falls i really liked the concept of Bill Cipher, and right now I'm about to watch the second season of the series~ By the way this also happens with animes I don't really like (with some exceptions) and games i'll probably never be able to play
