I know it looks like I try to push indie games, but I really just want gamers to get the most for their money. Haven Park is on sale via eshop for another week at $3 so I finally picked it up, and have zero regrets.
You're a little bird who kinda looks like Twiggy, who is taking over his grandma's park, where people come to hang out/vacation etc. You have to build them little living areas throughout the park. You spend your time collecting resources to build these things/fix up the park as you explore the wilderness. Different campsites have different 'quests' too, whether it be a 'choose your own adventure' story, hide and seek, finding treasure etc. It's meant to be a relaxing game so you have zero time constraints, you can literally just do whatever you feel like doing. Huge green flag for me was an XP system where you can upgrade your skills (find more wood/metal/money, build more things, run faster etc.).
Prelim research showed people complaining that you can beat the game in 4 hours. I have no idea who is burning through this kind of game, but I've found myself just wandering around for a couple hours at a time, and I still have a ton of objectives left to do.
Bottom line, $3 is a steal for this game, and I have a good feeling if you like Animal Crossing you'll take to this game.
....I'm also addicted to hearing the chick go 'Pew!'.
