So it’s been five years since the COVID-19 Pandemic started. Sure that we still do stuff as frequently during and after the pandemic that we did before, but what are some things you normally did that you haven’t even done since 2020? Try not to list things that you rarely or never do, and don’t list anything you did since the pandemic, even if you rarely did it after 2020.

For me, one thing I haven’t gone to the movie theater at all. Last movie I seen in theaters is Toy Story 4. Granted, I don’t watch movies as much anymore, but there hasn’t been a single time I’ve gone to the theater. I’ve been to malls, hotels, casinos, museums, golfing (which I hardly did within my lifetime), and even an amusement park (a boardwalk park though). But movie theaters are one thing I haven’t done in years.

As for specific examples, I haven’t:
  • Played Animal Crossing: New Leaf (let alone, any Animal Crossing game released before ACNH)
  • Ate at Olive Garden (I still went to other chain restaurants)
  • Watched Frozen (it’s actually been over 10 years since I watched it)
  • Log into Facebook or GameFAQs

Ordered groceries online or worn a mask in public. Maybe I could still do those things, but I haven’t.

I also rewatched “Liberty’s Kids” during the pandemic (don’t judge me lol) and haven’t watched it since.

I haven't gone to the mall anymore...
That's the only thing that comes to mind right now.

The pandemic was actually when I started self exploring and finding my interests. (I learned how to ride a bike, I learned how to play chess, etc).

I haven't had any alcoholic beverage since the pandemic began.

Granted, I was underage at the time, but it's still noteworthy.

I had a drink here and there and ultimately decided alcohol didn't appeal to me.

I quit watching the news permanently. After the endless amounts of anxiety attacks I kept getting, seeing people wear masks on TV (I’ve never liked them at all, period), combined with it being an election year, I basically said goodbye to it altogether. I don’t need all that negative stuff to affect my mood. To this day, I still avoid looking at TV’s that play news channels when out in public.

I was also using Twitter on an occasional basis for a couple years, but quit it fully in March of that dreadful year. There was no good reason to keep going on it.

I also have not watched sports highlight reels that were uploaded from 2020-2022. For instance, the 2020 NFL season (and to a lesser extent, 2021) was incredibly awkward to begin with, and personally hard to look at when the cameras showed shots of the distanced players on the sidelines and empty stadiums. Nowadays, it’s pretty much back to normal, but my eyes still try to avoid looking at the few people in the background that continue to wear masks.

My disdain for politics in general also increased dramatically. In fact, it’s now my most hated social subject to talk about. I avoid bringing it up entirely or attempt to change the topic if I’m in a conversation with others. There’s just no use in trying to get someone on the other side to agree with you.

^ Same, I kind of miss late night Walmart trips.

There's a group of friends I used to hang out with every week that I stopped doing so once the pandemic happened. We did Discord for a bit, but that fell off, too. For the best, since they weren't a great group of people anyways.

I also haven't seen my father since the pandemic. Hmm, the only things that come to mind are depressing topics, lol.

Went swimming in a pool. I used to have a membership at a local hotel leisure centre, but when the lockdowns came I had to stop. I never went back to it, and it makes me sad because I really enjoyed it.

Spoken with my friends from primary school lol. I switched schools and we just never bothered to keep in contact. That one has nothing to do with covid directly though, I was already planning on going to a different school.

I haven't had chocolate milk since before them either 😔

Same here. Sometimes you need to buy contact lens solution AFTER 10 PM.

Going to the cinema. This doesn't really bother me anymore. Why pay for expensive popcorn you can simply make at home than go to the cinema to get extra charged? All of the movies eventually go to streaming anyway. I wanted to see Sonic 3 but thought better of it and waiting until streaming. Surely enough, all 3 Sonic movies were available to watch on streaming. It was nice to watch them in order like that.

We used to have our lab group meetings held in the morning and were catered with pastries and fruit etc. for breakfast, and we stopped to implement social distancing and avoid food-sharing, but we never did bring catered meetings back. I didn't like those meetings anyway! 😅

I haven’t gone to a restaurant. There’s not much I did before the pandemic anyway but that makes me really sad. I’m just not willing to, I’m still uncomfortable being out much. : / Realistically I probably wouldn’t even be there long or catch anything at all but it’s eating etc…

I did go to the theater to see the JJK movie lol.

I haven’t left the Pacific Northwest at all since the pandemic. Traveling is just too expensive and things have been tight. I’m only now considering saving up to travel to the east coast.

I haven't gone to the mall anymore...

Yeah the mall where I live is finally closing for good. Which is a shame since they did a huge remodel to it and it's barely been 10 years since that, but I can't remember the last time I went there even before the pandemic.

I haven't been to restaurants in a long time barring a special occasion like my birthday or whatever. Again that wasn't too uncommon before since I am kind of cheap lol.

Lots of stores don't stay open past 10 or 11pm, but some close earlier than that. During stay at home orders companies realized they probably didn't see that much of a decrease in profit so they just decided to stop the 24/7 business. It's for the best anyway since when I worked grocery we only ever got drunks coming in during really late hours and no one wants to deal with that or have to call the cops.

Also not have a really good work/life balance because every company decided it could operate on a skeleton crew and treat them worst because 'we're in this together'

Haven't worn my face covering mask.

Can't believe there's still people that visit my local grocery store wearing plastic disposable gloves along with a mask , it's nuts. I'm guessing they haven't been vaxed

Some people wear them if they're sick which is a nice thing to do or because they're older and don't want to take the risk of getting something. Personally if someone is sick and contagious I would rather them go out with a mask so I'm less likely to pick up what they may have.

I honestly can't think of anything other than my mental state slowly going downhill. Too many things have happened in this world and too many things have happened in my life. Trying my best to get by despite it though.

Taste, does that count? Since Covid, I can't fully taste cinnamon, ginger, cacao and some other spices that I love. Loved?

Kissing as a greeting. Something that was normal in my culture. Lot of people stopped doing it and I'm not mad about it. 😅

Talking to my best friend, that one is really sad and dramatic, he passed away at the beginning of the pandemic due to a pulmonary disease.

Bought 20kg of flour
