General information

• Isabelle informed me that there was a visitor staying at the campsite. It was Cookie! We played a game and I won her pleather trench coat. I won a second game to see if she would move to Hazzard. I really hope she would choose to replace Tiffany, but she chose Julian. Even though I don’t plan to have Julian as a permanent resident, I don’t want to evict him just yet!
• Roscoe was making some jail bars.
• Dug up some gyroid fragments, fossils, weeds and overgrown flowers.

• Buck – I decided to give Buck a Mr. Flamingo, as a thank you he gifted me a boa fleece.
• Kidd – Kidd looked very stylish in the Butterfly shades that I gave to him! In return he gave me a Checkered muffler
• Roscoe – I decided to regift the Checkered muffler to Roscoe, as I have quite a few of them in my storage. Roscoe returned the favour by giving me a Silk shirt.
• Al – After I had to time travel a few hours ahead, Al was finally awake and outside ... fishing! (Everyone else seemed to be up just after 7am apart from Al!) I presented him with some Pad krapow, he seemed quite pleased as I got an Aran-knit sweater in return.

• Eek, Flick is wondering about. I hate Flick so much!
• Buck gave me a silk shirt as he had a double.
• Kidd was crafting a golden casket.
• Dug up a squeakoid, a rattloid fossils, weeds, etc.
• Found a message bottle on the beach from Chrissy. That was a nice throwback as I used to have her in my island. It was a Wooden box DIY, which I already have.
• Popped a balloon and got an unfinished puzzle.
• When I was looking through Nook Shopping, I released I hadn’t scanned Marty’s amiibo to access his items. He’s so cute! I hadn’t scanned Chai either, so I will scan her into the campsite tomorrow.

General information

• C.J.’s Winter Fishing Tourney was underway! My record was 9 in 3 minutes! (Thanks to a lot of Fish bait!) Didn’t spend too much time on it as I already have three trophies. I got 46 points: I swapped some swag for some swag: Fish pochette, Marine pop wall, Fish-print tee and a fresh cooler.

• Buck - Poor Buck was inside and not taking part in the tourney, so I gave him one of my prizes, a fish-print tee. He didn’t seem impressed, as he didn’t give me anything in return.
• Al – Al was also inside his house, doing some exercise, so I presented him with 10 gift wrapped apples, as a thank you he gifted me a Robot hero tee.
• Roscoe – After the tourney, I headed to see Roscoe, to give him 10 gift wrapped cherries. He gave me something I don’t think I’ve got a Mod parka.
• Kidd – Next to see Kidd to present him with K.K. Steppe, in exchange Kidd gifted me a Terry-cloth nightcap.

• Oh no, poor Al was ill, probably that Tiffany that make him unwell. He gave me a Velvet stool when I gave him medicine.
• Kidd was making salade de carottes rapees.
• Roscoe, Kidd and Buck were all dressed in their reindeer outfits!
• I collected a message in a bottle from Hornsby, it was an Apple tart recipe.
• Went into The Roost for a cup of coffee.

• Al – I went back in to see Al later when he was feeling better. He loves hats, so I ordered a Pompomurin hat yesterday from Nook Shopping. As a thank you he gifted me a pair of Coveralls with arm covers.
• Kidd – Kidd gave me a Plain do-rag after I gave him 10 gift wrapped oranges.
• Buck – I always love to see King Buck wearing different outfits so I presented him with a Pompomurin outfit. He looked great in it! In return as a thank you gift he gave me a School uniform with necktie.

• Flick was visiting.
• Tipper asked to leave, so I agreed. Time for a Villager hunt in a few days!
• I donated a Famous Painting, Glowing Painting and an Ancient Statue to Blathers.
• The best cook on Hazzard, Buck was making plain scones!

• Buck – I gifted Buck a Flowerly painting, he gave me an Animal-print coat in return.
• Roscoe – I visited Roscoe to give him a Pompompurin tee. He presented me with a Down ski jacket as a thank you.
• Al – Al loves his food and hats, so I bought him a Pompompurin pudding from Nook Shopping a few days ago. Must have been out of date, as he didn’t give me anything in return!
• Kidd – Kidd was indisposed when I entered his house, I went for a rest on his bed until he decided to finish what he was doing. I’ve given genuine art to other villagers before and they’ve always taken it, but Kidd refused two pieces from me! I thought maybe I had been mistaken and they were fake, so I took them to Blathers, and they were all genuine! So, a Blathers is a happy owl! Instead I gave Kidd, K.K. Moody, in return he gave me a brown shanty wall.

New Year, New Horizons entry – Day 1

Wednesday, January 18, 2023​

A lovely refreshing, sunny start to the day on Hazzard, apart from someone lurking outside. I was having a chat with King Buck and he told me he had new workout routines he had been working on that he wanted to show me before he debuted them to Tom Nook for the group stretching exercises.

So, we headed outside for Buck to demonstrate the new workouts. Buck left his Royal Crown behind thinking it would be safe…

What we didn’t know was that the person lurking outside was Tiffany, she had entered the room as we left. Tiffany was always jealous of Buck as he had a Royal crown. Her eyes lit up, and as quick as a flash she stole Buck’s Royal Crown!

When Tiffany wore it, she felt as if she was the most powerful villager in Hazzard, even above Tom Nook. She made a quick exit, constantly checking nobody saw her leave.

When Buck and I returned we were in tears to discover the crown was gone. Buck and I vowed we would find whoever stole the crown and it would be back to where it belonged with King Buck.

Will Buck ever get his Royal crown back? ​

New Year, New Horizons entry - Day 1
Wednesday, January 18, 2023​

New Year, New Horizons entry – Day 2

Thursday, January 19, 2023​

As Buck and I slowly came to terms with the theft of the Royal crown, we decided we would need a plan of action to track down the thief.

To try and calm our nerves we headed over to The Roost to get a cup of Brewster’s finest. Brewster could see how distressed we were, so he even gave us a shot of pigeon milk to steady our nerves. We had to share a cup, as Brewster hadn’t done the washing up from last night’s rush.

Brewster's coffee triggered Buck's brain muscles into action.

Buck: Who would do such a thing?

Me: I was thinking, Hazzard’s deputy, Prince Kidd has a Royal crown too. Maybe we should ask him if he’s been targeted?

Buck: Great idea! I’ll phone Booker and Copper while you’re over at Kidd’s. Hopefully we can resolve this before the TBT blogging contest ends!

Me: Brewster?

Brewster: Coo?

Me: Was there any unfamiliar faces in here last night or anyone acting out of character?

Brewster: Coo. Now you mention it, I can’t remember her name, but the new resident was in. I don’t know if she was acting out of character as she’s never been in before. She was carrying a bag and wouldn’t let it out of her sight. What’s her name? Britany? Stephanie?

Buck: Tiffany? Brewster, please don’t mention Stephanie. I’ve heard terrible things about cockroaches being in her house! Makes me shudder! @KittenNoir

Brewster: Coo, coo!

Buck: May I borrow the cup Tiffany used last night; I want to take it over to Booker and Copper to be analysed.

Brewster: Coo, anything for you Buck! Please remember to bring it back and don’t forget the saucer!

Buck: Sure thing, Brewster!

Me: See you later!

Tomorrow: Buck files a report with Booker and Copper and I visit Prince Kidd.

New Year, New Horizons – Day 3

Friday, January 20, 2023​

Over at the Hazzard Police Station, Buck was reporting the theft to Booker and Copper. Redd was in a cell after an anonymous tipoff about him selling fake works of art to residents.

Booker: Hey Buck! We’ve not seen you since you were jogging through the ‘Keep Off the Grass’ areas.

Buck: Please, you’ve got to help me. One of my best friends gave me a Royal crown, and it’s been stolen! I've got a cup that a suspect called Tiffany used at The Roost in my bag. Maybe you could analyse it, and see if we can get any clues?

Copper: Sorry to hear that Buck, and of course, we will do everything we can to track this crown down.

Booker and Copper recorded all the information from Buck, as Redd sat up when he overheard the conversation.

Redd: Did I hear right? Your crown has been stolen, Buck? Listen Booker, Copper, I could try and help him get his crown back, as I know King Ma… er, I know some residents who know some residents….

Buck looked at Booker and Copper with pleading eyes.

Copper looked on surprised as Booker spoke to Redd.

Booker: Alright Redd, I’m going to give you a chance to redeem yourself. If you manage to help Buck and return any bells to customers who you sold fake art, we’ll call it quits. We’ll be watching you, and don’t try and skip the island!

Redd: Thanks guys! Come on Buck, let’s get back to the island.

Meanwhile, I was over at Kidd’s.

Kidd: I heard there was some commotion on the island. Did Buck discover a new muscle?

Me: I wanted to check you still had your crown as Buck’s was stolen.

Kidd: Hang on, I’ll check.

As Kidd went to check, I got a message on my phone from an anonymous number:

‘We have Buck’s crown and we’re not giving it back, as we are now the leaders of Hazzard. Buck is old news and we’re fed-up hearing about his fitness quests.’ King Maynord​

As I read it, I was in shock. I thought ‘we’, so there are at least two villagers working together. Who is ‘King Maynord’? My mind was racing with questions. Have they visited? Do they have a vacation home?

Kidd returned, ‘My crown is here, but remember mine doesn’t have so many jewels as I’m the Deputy of Hazzard’.

Me: Thanks, Kidd. I need to find Buck. See you later.

Kidd: If there’s anything I can do to help, let me know.

Tomorrow: Buck, Redd and I team up.

New Year, New Horizons – Day 4

Sunday, January 21, 2023​

As a new day dawns on Hazzard, Buck returned from his early morning workout.

We were unsure if we could trust Redd, but he was our only hope. I revealed the anonymous message I received from King Maynord, and we started to brainstorm…

Buck: Come on Redd, I’ve heard about your reputation, and you’ve even sold Jenny fake paintings in the past, but we’re willing to forgive you if you’ll help us. Do you know this, King Maynord?

Redd: Yeah, I know… I really want to help, but…these two I suspect are … mean. If I tell you then I’ll need to leave, and I promised Booker and Copper I wouldn’t leave the island…

Me: Redd, don’t worry about that, if we get these two behind bars, you’ll be free and they can’t get to you.

Redd looked deep in thought and sighed.

Redd: OK, I think you’re right with your theory on Tiffany. I used to know her when she started her life of crime. She used to help me source fake art. Sorry about that. (Redd said raising his eyebrows) But then she got in with Maynord, I promise you I’ve never met him as that’s when our partnership split. I’ve only heard of his reputation. He’s been around for about 3 years. Tiffany got mixed up with him when she wanted more in life. She wanted bags and bags of bells to buy a yacht and luxury cars. The one thing though they could never lay their hands on was a Royal crown. They visited the Able Sisters store on countless islands but they could never find one.

Buck: Do you know where Maynord lives?

Redd: There is a rumour that he’s a former resident of Hazzard. He pretended to be an ordinary villager to see what the island was like and how easy it would be to steal the crown. Then, he left to start making his plans. As to where he lives now, your guess is as good as mine.

Me: OK, I’m going to head over to Tiffany’s house. If she’s in, I’ll try and look for clues without raising her suspicions.

Buck: Be careful, I’ll keep a lookout around her house incase you need any help.

Me: Thanks, Buck. I knew I could rely on you.

Next time: I visit Tiffany’s house, to look for clues.

Buck turns Security Officer to keep a look out for me.

New Year, New Horizons - Day 5​

As our investigation continues, I went to Tiffany’s house. I knocked on the door and entered, to find Tiffany sleeping. I took this opportunity to look for clues. I didn’t want to spend too long inside in case she woke up, so I hurriedly looking around for anything that could help in our investigation. I noticed a torn and faded photo underneath her pool table. I quickly got my phone and took a snapshot of this mystery resident. He did look familiar, but I couldn’t quite place the resident. Tiffany was still in the land of nod, so I made my exit.

Next time: I headed back to meet up with Buck and Redd. Also, Redd has some good news to share with is.

New Year, New Horizons - Day 6​

Another entry and another step closer to retrieving Buck’s Royal crown.

I met up with Buck and Redd in the café, Prince Kidd is now on shift. We discussed the photo over a canned coffee each.

Redd: Yeah, I’m certain I know who that is, he said reluctantly. I’d recognise those eyes anywhere. I spoke to my associates and they are positive my theory is correct.

Me: Well, who?

Redd: I would rather not say until I’m 100% sure, but if we can clear it with Booker and Copper, I’ll need to leave the island to go over to see Maynord on his patch.

Buck: It’s going to take some smooth talking, but hopefully we can convince them.

Me: I think I know what could sweeten the deal. Kidd, may I have a bag of Vanilla slices and a Carrot cake, please?

Kidd: Sure thing, have these on the house, if it’s anything to help a friend, especially King Buck. I'm sure you'll get your crown back, but even if you don't always remember you'll always be the true King to the residents of Hazzard!

Buck: Thank you so much, Kidd. (Buck said with a tear in his eye.)

I made the phone call to Booker and Copper, after a few minutes of persuasive conversation, and the promise of a sweet treat or two, they agreed, if we went along with Redd.

Me: OK, they’ve agreed as long as Buck and I go along with you to make sure you come back.

Redd: I understand. All I ask is keep out of sight of Maynord’s den, if I get into trouble you can get some help.

Buck: Sounds fair enough. OK, let’s go.

New Year, New Horizons - Day 7​

Buck and I waited outside watching Maynord’s den from afar, as Redd entered.

As Redd entered he was met by two of Maynord’s guards, a rather fierce looking Shino and Ricky.

Redd: Hey guys, remember me? It’s Redd!

Shino and Ricky remained straight faced.

Redd: I’ve come to see Mr. Maynord, Tiffany once said a friend of hers was a friend of his.

Shino and Ricky stepped aside and ushered Redd into Maynord’s office. As Redd entered, Shino and Ricky shut the door behind them. Redd was faced with Maynord.

Maynord: Well, well, well, I don’t think we’ve had the pleasure. I did buy a piece of mail order art from you and needless to say it was fake.

Redd looks nervous, ‘I’m sorry about that, if I had known myself I wouldn’t have sold it to you.’ Recognising the voice, Redd exclaimed: My hunch was right, it’s you Raymond!

Raymond: Well done, Redd (!) Maynord is an anagram I use, as who would take this cat seriously? It’s great to feel in a position of power. They think just because I’m new to this game that I’m not capable of taking over. Whenever, I made my short stay on Hazzard last summer, everyone loved Buck, and all I wanted was to feel a little of that love.

Redd: It’s not a question of taking over, Raymond. Even although Buck has the title of King, he doesn’t act above anyone else, he sees all the residents including himself as equals. Everyone loves Buck because he’s helpful and a friendly resident. You’re not doing yourself any favours by stealing his crown.

Raymond: Did you tell him you thought it was me?

Redd: Not yet, I said to him I had an idea, but I didn’t reveal any names.

Raymond: Can I have a few days to think about this?

Redd: What is there to think about? You’ve got something that isn’t yours! I’m going to leave now and I’ll come back in a few days. Until then, please have a serious think about what you’re doing. I won’t mention your name yet, but if you’re not here when I come back, then I WILL tell Booker and Copper. New Year, New Horizons - Day 8​

As Redd calmly walked out of his meeting from Raymond, he saw Buck and I in the distance. As Redd approached, Buck had a lot of questions for Redd…

Buck: So, how did it go? Did you see my crown? Have you got it? Did you recognise King Maynord?

Redd: Slow down, Buck! It’s best we get back to Hazzard and I’ll tell you all about it.

So, we all left, Buck and I went to the Boars Nest over in Chickasaw in Happy Home Paradise as change of scenery. Redd had to head on back to his trawler, so he told us all about his conversation with Raymond over a video call.

Redd: Do you remember a sly looking cat, goes by the name of Raymond?

Me: Yeah, sure, he lived here for a short time last summer. I remember I had to hit him with a flea net and he was rather upset if Tom Nook or anyone else found out about it.

Redd: Well, it’s him.

Buck: What? He’s King Maynord?

Redd: Definitely, and it seems that Tiffany was working with him…

Tipper the head waitress: Excuse me? There is a phone call you from Booker.

Me: Thanks Tipper. Hi Booker, how can I help you?

[I continued my conversation on the phone while Buck looked at me with a curious expression, and Redd listened in. Even Cephalobot was in shock to hear the news!]

Me: Thank you so much Booker! I’ll make sure I bring you some more cakes!

Buck and Redd: Well, is it good news?

Me: In a way, do you remember that cup and saucer we got Booker and Copper to analyse for fingerprints?

[Buck and Redd nodded excitedly]

Me: Well, it’s a match for Tiffany! Booker and Copper are on their way over her to take her in! Brewster’s not going to be happy as they say they’ve got to keep the cup and saucer for evidence!

New Year, New Horizons – Day 9​

Buck decided to work off some stress, so he took himself off to the north of the island for a workout.

Meanwhile I saw Tiffany with a packed bag acting rather suspiciously outside of the Resident Services building circling the area as if she was waiting for someone.

Me: Hey Tiffany, are you going on a holiday?

Tiffany spoke rather nervously.

Tiffany: Who? Me? No, of course not. I’ve just been into the Able Sisters and bought some new clothes.

Me: Ooh, can I please see? I love Sable and Label’s creations.

Tiffany: Er…no… they’re all neatly folded…

[Tiffany was interrupted by the arrival of Buck, Redd, Booker and Copper. Even Raymond turned up with Buck’s crown!]

New Year, New Horizons - Day 10​

Booker and Copper asked everyone to accompany them to the police station.

Booker: Well young Tiffany and Raymond. What do you have to say for yourself?

Tiffany: I’m not saying anything…

Raymond: …Come on, Tiffany. We’ve caused enough trouble for Buck and the residents of Hazzard. I’m going to come clean. I stayed on Hazzard last year and Buck was so popular, he is the heart of the community keeping everyone happy and healthy with his daily exercises. I just wanted to see what it would be like to be popular. I’m sorry everyone but especially to you Buck. I hope there are no hard feelings even with you Redd.

[Redd smiles slyly]

Raymond: I realise that it’s not the crown that makes Buck special, it’s his personality.

Booker: Are you going to return the crown to its rightful owner?

Raymond: Yes, to be quite honest, I didn’t wear it much as it is soaked in sweat. No offence, Buck.

Buck: None taken! I love the smell of sweat; it proves I’ve completed a great workout!

[Raymond gently placed the crown onto Buck’s head. Buck had the biggest smile on his face to get his prized possession back.]

Me: So, what’s going to happen to Tiffany and Raymond?

[Tiffany and Raymond looked at each other with dread, as they waited to hear their fate.]

Copper: Well, I suppose that’s up to Buck, after all it was his crown that was stolen. We could put them in jail, ban them from visiting/living on Hazzard, make them weed the island, help out in Resident Services…

Buck: Sorry to stop you Copper, but Jenny, would you come with me, one moment please?

[Buck ushered me away and told me of his idea of a punishment. I laughed and thought it was a great idea.]

Jenny: OK, Booker and Copper if you agree, this is Buck’s idea…

New Year, New Horizons - Day 11​

Today marks the final part of 'The Adventure of Buck’s Royal Crown!' Everyone was thrilled as Buck got his beloved Royal crown back and vowed to keep it under lock and key whenever he wasn’t wearing it. The same couldn’t be said for Tiffany and Raymond when Buck revealed their fate.

Buck: Well, what do you think Booker? Copper?

Booker: Yeah, I think we can agree to that. Copper?

Copper: Sounds a very fair punishment considering the high class crime they committed.

Me: Buck, would you like to borrow my phone to make the arrangements?

Tiffany: Hey, what’s going on here?

Buck: You would be best to wait and see.

[Buck made the call to one of his old friends @KittenNoir over on Cosa Bella, who often had an intrusion of cockroaches in her house.]

Buck: Hello, Vitamin S! It’s your old pal, Buck here! Hazzard is treating me well! I was wondering if you could do me a favour, I have a few villagers who are looking for somewhere to stay for a few weeks as a punishment as they stole my Royal crown. Jail seemed too easy, but I know your house is rather a freak fest with all those evil cockroaches. Sends a shiver in my hoofs just thinking about them!

[Buck continued his conversation with delight, as Tiffany and Raymond looked on in horror at the thought of staying in a house with cockroaches. Buck thanked Stephanie who agreed to his request.]

Me: Everything all sorted?

Buck: Oh yes! Well, Miss Tiffany and Mr. Raymond, it looks like you’re going on a little rehabilitation scheme over on Cosa Bella. My second best friend, Stephanie (obviously Jenny is my best friend! ) has a problem with cockroaches, and I would like to be able to visit her without the fear of them wandering about, so you two are going over to make sure her house is cockroach free.

Tiffany: Noooooo! Please Booker and Copper, I’ll go in the cells instead for double the time!!!!!! Buck, please have some mercy on me!

Raymond: Anything but COCKROACHES!!!!! I hate so much as a flea landing on me!!!!!

Booker: If you didn’t want to do the time, you shouldn’t have committed the crime! Booker and I will get the paperwork for them to travel to Cosa Bella.

[Later that day, Raymond and Tiffany were headed to the airport, as Wilbur took them over to Cosa Bella.]

All the residents of Hazzard gathered for one mighty party that evening to celebrate King Buck's crown back to where it belongs! Redd even got a second chance and was released by Booker and Copper.

Me: Well, are you happy Buck?

Buck: Absolutely! Fancy a workout, Iron J?

General information

• Isabelle told me we had a visitor at the campsite. It was Ruby, her eyes look scary!
• Went into my house, and had to get rid of a few cockroaches.
• Was disappointed to discover I had missed Boomer and Julian's birthdays. I don't like time travelling backwards as far as that, so I'll just accept I missed them!
• Make a start on digging up my overgrown flowers and weeds.
• Roscoe was making cookies. He looked so funny with his bandana on!
• Spoke to Buck, Kidd, Roscoe, Lionel and Julian. They all commented it was 2 months since they had seen me!

• My mailbox is overloaded, I will need to go through it day by day!
• Isabelle told me about a decorated candy egg, and that it’s Bunny Day on Sunday! Also, that the Spring Fishing Tourney will take place on Saturday. Which means K.K. Slider will have a rare outing on Monday! Yay!
• Love the Cherry Blossom trees around the island!
• Julian gave me 5 water eggs.
• Kidd was making Coconut pudding.
• Boomer was visiting Al.
• Shook some leaf eggs from the Cherry Blossom trees.
• Found Zipper T. Bunny wandering around Hazzard! He gave me 10 water eggs.
• C.J. was visiting.

Daily gifts

• I gave Buck, Kidd, Al and Roscoe a Bunny Day planter box, below is what they gave me in return.
• Buck – A Rugby uniform.
• Kidd – A pair of Full-body tights.
• Al - A Stovetop espresso maker.
• I found Roscoe inside the museum wearing his Christmas tree jumper! In return, he gave me a Henley shirt.
• I felt sorry for Boomer as he said he had been looking at me, but I had been ignoring him, so I gave him a gift wrapped Rattloid. I was amazed when I got Boomer’s photo as a thank you!
