Hello! My name is Tokki, nice to meet you!

I know New Horizons is the cool, new thing, but I unfortunately cannot afford a switch. I hadn't played AC since the original game and with all the excitement surrounding NH and my memories of enjoying the OG AC, I decided to get NL for my 3DS.

I'm not sure if there are many people who still play ACNL, but if there are, I'd really love to become friends :)

Welcome to TBT, Tokki! You can refer to me as Mayor Ng, same as the character in my New Leaf game :)

I'm still active on New Leaf (restarted my town in March) as well as on TBT in the New Leaf area. If you need help with anything in New Leaf, let me know, I'll be happy to assist you if I can. It's gotten a little quiet lately in the New Leaf area but there's still a community :)

Welcome to TBT! I play New Leaf once in a while, so let me know if you need anything!

Thank you so much for the welcome and the kind offer of assistance!

I actually had an issue about a dream villager moving into an unwanted location, which I posted about it the ACNL threads, but a kind member informed me that Tom Nook can move homes for a fee which I was pleasantly surprised to learn and am very excited to partake in once I get home.

You might see me posting questions quite a bit because, even though it's been a few months of playing, I'm not very proficient with the ins and outs of gameplay 😅

Ah, no, you were misinformed unfortunately. Tom Nook cannot move villagers homes in NL. If they end up moving into a bad spot, there's nothing you can really do about it other than waiting until they move out. :c

A way to avoid this is setting out 2 by 2 paths or plot resetting. To make them go into a specific spot, placing down paths is the way to go. I suggest you watch a YouTube video so you understand better as I can't explain it that well without verbally speaking. Make sure that when you place down the paths that you have them close enough that no villager can move here. Villagers houses are 3x3 spaces, so if you want them in a certain spot fill your town with 2x2 spaces and only place 3x3 spaces where you want the villagers house to be.

Hopefully this helped c:

Hello!

Yes, I was informed on the thread that the Tom Nook feature was unfortunately not for ACNL 😭

The saddest bit is that I actually DID do the plotting in order to control where new villagers moved.

What happened was that the night I invited the villager who was camping to move in, I was rearranging flowers in a specific area of my town (to make room for planting more perfect fruit trees as I'd FINALLY grown a perfect fruit) and I forgot to put my path designs back before I went to sleep.

I lost a bunch of blue violets and now my plans for the surrounding landscape in front of my character's home have gone down the drain 😭

Such rotten luck.

Now it's a choice of forcing my dream villager (Whitney) to move via neglect or somehow get over the fact that she's moved herself directly in front of my house (when I was SO close to completing the design I had planned) 🥺

Apologies for the terrible picture quality. That is my mayor crying over the whole debacle as the character that owns the blocked house in question hasn't heard the crying joke yet 😅

That's very unfortunate :c

Don't worry, same has happened to many times, the most saddest when it was on my array of Jacob's ladders. I had placed them in a certain spot when I was rearranging something else, I ended up not playing NL the next day and then the day after, someone randomly moved in and squashed them :c

Don't worry! Happens to all of us at first.

Welcome to TBT!!! I'm fairly new to New Leaf too. Glad to know there are others who play it.
