Hello from a new Islander!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all having as lovely a day as possible

I have just joined the forums today having got ACNH a couple of weeks ago. Prior to that, I briefly played Wild World and have been playing Pocket Camp on and off since launch. So my knowledge of community terms, etiquette etc is VERY patchy. I have read through the gam FAQs on here (happily all stuff I had already learnt, yay for me!) and am hoping to potentially be pointed to any others. Particularly around trading, forum etiquette, community terms and definitions.

For example, what does 'original' villager mean and why does it matter? (In trading).

What are the currencies above people's names here - like the bells - is there an FAQ or thread I can read to find out about this? Is there anywhere you would recommend starting to get involved in the community?

Like I say, I'm very new so trying to learn as much as possible before I stick my oar in with other people and potentially do something wrong! So any advice, links, tips etc are greatly welcome. I'm more than happy to do my own research, I'm jus struggling with where to start!

The "original" villagers refer to gifted or ungifted villagers (gifted means they keep the clothing & catchphrases given to them by the previous owner, ungifted/original means they are..."fresh" )

The currency bells is what you'll receive for a number of things like making threads/posting/reacting/etc... and during events you can also win them, these can be spend in the forum shop for those collectibles you'll see under people's avatar or you can also use bells here on the forum for trading. more info on bells here!

For trading, you can visit the 'nooks cranny' section where you can look for ingame selling/buying posts or create posts of your own when you want to sell/buy. Basic etiquettes I would say: be friendly, trade fair and leaving a "feedback" (review) for each other afterwards is always nice

For turnips, go to 'turnip stalk exchange'. Most notable etiquette: either look for people posting their prices or post your own prices but don't just create those "I want high prices" threads which can be a bit annoying to others :d

For villager trading, go to 'the neighbor network'
