Ah. In regards to getting started, here is some information on those 'Bells' under your avatar:

And here is a chart showing how much every 100 TBT 'Bells' you have tend to go for:

4 - 5 million bells for every 100 TBT Bells seem to be the most popular conversion rates at the moment.
