Hey! I've had Animal Crossing New Leaf for several months now but I restarted my game a while ago because I wanted a clean slate to work with (also I had gone tree crazy in my first town so I probably had well over 300 trees hahaha. I wanted a forest but I didn't realize it would prevent you from getting perfect status :< )

So... yeah. I'd love to visit towns and the such but my wifi is a jerk and tends to short out after about 3 minutes of connection >:I

Hello and welcome, hope you get your wifi sorted out. c:

Which forum section should I post a question about that in? Or should I try contacting Nintendo about it? (I got this 3ds from someone, so I feel like contacting Nintendo might be a bit difficult since I don't have the warranty or anything... a bit of a longer story behind that but basically I don't have the papers anymore)

If your wifi is unstable the first problem I would look for is with your router. If your connection is unstable on any wifi service then your wifi card may be loose or failing. One of my units had a bad wifi card and since it was under warranty Nintendo replaced it for free. If you rule out it's your router or home internet connection then I would contact Nintendo, give them your Serial Number and see if it's still under warranty. If not then repairs would probably not be worth it, I would just replace the unit at that point.

Rule out your router and service provider first though. ;)

Ah, I guess I should give Nintendo a shot then. My home internet is pretty excellent and I have my laptop on wifi all the time and I don't remember the last time I've had issues with my internet hahaha. But with the 3ds it's just been questionable wifi shenanigans for pretty much anything I do, so it's probably the 3ds then.

Thanks!

YW and good luck. One way to test your issue would be to try and connect via LAN to another 3ds. Even if your internet is completely shut off you should be able to connect to a "nearby town" if your wifi on the 3DS is turned on. Mine would constantly fail even at doing that so I was sure the issue was with the internal card.
