HELP! Game stuck on saving screen D:

Sooo I was playing HHP and wanted to save and quit so I could start back on my island without finishing the home first.. and now it's stuck on the "Saving.. Do not touch [power button]" screen for 5 minutes... I'm so worried my file is corrupted.. should I keep waiting or force exit the game?? I don't know what to do, I'm really sad rn

If this were me, I’d force shut off the game and restart it. My save screen was laggy on several occasions and I always shut it off without issues, but I just assumed I was very lucky. Did it save yet? Sometimes the game is just laggy for no reason.

This happened to me & I ended up just having to close it. Nothing happened but things are different for everyone. I'm not sure if you have much of a choice otherwise though. ;; v ;;

Okay I force quit it and it's fine, thank goodness. I would have been so heartbroken if it had corrupted and I lost my file.

Make sure you have it backed up on the title screen, just in case this happens again! ^ v ^ Glad your game's okay though!

Everytime this happens to me, it's because I'm connected to WiFi but my Internet isn't actually on (which is a really weird reason for this to happen, tbh). It tries to connect to the Internet for some reason (maybe to do an island back-up?) but saves/loads for a VERY long time while trying to do so. I recommend turning on airplane mode when you aren't actively using the Internet, and load times will be much faster for you in the future. Load times for Animal Crossing are ridiculously long when connected to Wifi/the Internet, in my experience.

Not sure if this is the case for you, but it is almost always the case for me, so I figured I'd mention it. I'm glad you got it sorted, though! ^^
