Help me choose between 2 town maps!

Hi everyone!

I got a secondary cart of AnCro recently and have restarted a bunch of times. This time it's for keeps no matter what, but I'm stuck between two great-looking maps. I was after a town where one half of it, that was cut away by the river, is a lot smaller than the other half. So could you guys help me narrow it down to the best one?

map 2! nice small river, the beach is for the most part one complete strip of land- trust me, you want a map like that- the town square is close to the center, and the town hall is super close to the train station. youll need another bridge asap, though.

The placement of the Plaza in Map 2 bothers me.

Great answer, thanks! Hadn't considered the beach thing. It's a bonus that there's a pirate island too...

A lot of people seem to say go for number 1, but the people who say go for map 2 are really passionate about it. So at this point I'm preferring map 2 unless someone can explain to me the pros of 1.

Map 2. If you don't like the villager by the tiny beach, great because your house is going down there by it's own private beach.

You're spot on about that, actually. That's probably the worst thing about it... It seems to take up a whole hunk of space for some reason, more than usual?

Map 1 has more room for PWPs.

Map 1, because the plaza gives you enough room for PWPs and house placement. Also, that one only has one pond. That makes life easier.
