HELP! My Nintendo linking.

Can anybody help me? I'm having a problem linking my My Nintendo to my Nintendo Network ID. Whenever I just CLICK the Nintendo ID link, it shows THIS:

This account could not be linked.

The country of residence registered with this Nintendo Account does not match the country registered with the Nintendo Network ID.
Please try again using a Nintendo Network ID whose country matches that registered with this Nintendo Account.​

I even checked to make sure that they were the same country (US) and tried again. Still, it did not work.

Has anybody have this problem and have a fix?

Apparently, it's possible that some of your account settings from your NNID doesn't match with the Nintendo Account you're trying to link to. Even though your country settings are technically correct, you still have to make sure the rest of your NNID settings match with those from Nintendo Account. Timezones, e-mail address, birth date and such should match between those accounts.

But I never put anything in!

You see, all I did was click the Nintendo Network picture in the Nintendo Account Settings, and it sent me to THAT page!

Strange. I've never seen this. @.@

When I pre-registered for an account, I used my NNID as my sign-in from the start so it was kind of linked automatically, I guess?
