HHA Ratings and the perfect house?

Does anyone else find themselves trying to get a really good HHA rating or making the conventional perfect house (With bathroom, kitchen etc)? I have 3 rooms with perfect sets (Sleek, Modern, Roccoco) so other rooms are stuff like kitchens and bathrooms but I've seen a few houses on streetpass that just fill up with gyroids cos of their HHA rating, so what do you guys do?

I mainly focussed on getting full sets and placing red/green/yellow in the right places (+ some gyroids). It turns out that I didn't even need all full sets to achieve the maximum score - for neither the regular HHA nor theme challenge. I furnished my house with only points in mind, just to get it over with, so I could start making my house look the way I wanted without having to think about what Lyle thought of it.

I like having a kitchen. I have a fairy tale theme in my house which I chose because from the start I collected Rococo and Regal furniture. I have a room with some fairy tale themed items and my upper floor is the mushroom/harvest series. Basement I used to have as a game room and switched out to a trophy room for pictures and whatnot.

I have access to a golden roof, golden door, and golden exterior from HHA, one day I was at 700,000. The next I dropped to 550,000 and it slowly keeps dropping. I think I'm done for now worrying about HHA points.

When I first started playing I collected sets and really tried to get points, but I'm not really caring about that so much lately. I've just about finished redoing my house so I now have a lounge room in my main room, bedroom upstairs, kitchen in my left room, play room in my back room, library in my right room and combination rumpus room and bathroom in my basement

They're still pretty much full of sets, but I like having a house that actually feels like a house instead of every room having a bed to get the point bonus etc

i finally reach 1400000hr points (in the toy shop) without changing my main room.and now i have the full golden exteriors.

I was up to 300k in the theme challenge and next time I checked, I dropped 140k points without having a clue why. So I dropped the theme challenge to first get all the regular challenge rewards. When I have those, I will just start with the HHA challenge again when I feel like it. I just keep the house exterior themed. Thats it.

Yeah my focus was to get really high hha points to get the rewards, mine peaked at about 240,000 then I gave up trying now and just have the sets I like.

My alt has the toy shop theme and maxed out his points. Kiddie in main room, insect in left, Nintendo/Mario in back room, pirate to the right and Balloon in room above. Not one gyroid, I shove those in the museum. His basement I'll probably put whatever in there since that doesn't count towards HHA.

My main is going for a rustic theme, but I have yet to determine what to put in the above floor so I haven't gone for the theme challenge yet. Thinking I may try for the weeding day furniture set, but unsure.
