Hi from McKinney TX

Welcome to the forums! If you're looking for more laid back games similar to animal crossing, I'd highly recommend Stardew Valley! It's available on both PC and switch and it's probably my favorite "simulation" type game aside from animal crossing

My favorite is "Badlands", I just love it, it's so great, and it has such an America feeling to it. "Born to Run" is my second favorite - I also like the other ones you mentioned and "Dancing in the Dark".

Now I have Bandlands stuck in my head and will probably need to listen to it on repeat a few times haha.

I didn't recognize Badlands when I heard it! I probably had heard it on the radio in the past, and just hadn't remembered. It's a great song! I also checked the other songs on the album and don't think I've heard them either. Dancing in the Dark is a great track as well, lots of memories of my teenage years when I hear that song. 🤩

Thanks! I've heard from a few people that Stardew Valley is good. Animal Crossing seemed like it had more variety, which steered me in its direction. I was playing Don't Starve for a bit and just got frustrated, the gameplay has a great level of challenge but I got killed too easily from poor judgment against various creatures.

(The automerge didn't seem to flow well, let's see if my edits helped)

Howdy neighbor! I'm just a few hours south of you in Austin. Welcome!

I've been playing videogames for 30+ years myself. Animal Crossing is my normal genre, which people sometimes call casual, but I don't think they understand how deep the rabbit hole can go, lol! I hope you enjoy your time here. There's something for everybody to chat about!

Thank you Jade! Austin is a great town, I moved to the DFW area in 1998 and had planned to move down to Austin as soon as possible but it did not happen. I still hold out that the possibility is there though, and the company I work for now does have offices in the Austin area so there may be a chance yet!
Yes, the animal Crossing rabbit hole runs very deep. I'm finding myself scheduling time for it around other stuff.:ROFLMAO:
