They really should add a hibernation mode in the next game. That way you won't lose you're villagers.
I am TIRED of being forced to play every single day! It's like you're chained to a metal ball.

I'm hoping Nintendo is leaning this way ever since New Leaf introduced the Beautiful Town ordinance, which has really made it less daunting to pick NL up again after my sometimes long periods of absence from playing. I don't really have Dreamies, and I don't play every day, but there's always villagers I prefer to keep over others, so I would also like a Hibernation Mode option.

Having a pause mode reminds me of Tamagotchis. You could put those on pause and then you wouldn't lose them if you didn't play for a while. It would be interesting to see that feature in an Animal Crossing game. At least it's been better though. In Wild World someone would try to move every other day.

Yes, I've been wanting this for ages now! They could have an ordinance to keep things the same - no villagers move out and no weeds will grow but no new flowers/hybrids will grow and no fossils will appear in the ground etc. Or at least just the pause thing, I'm scared of losing my favorite villagers after not playing for a while.

Definitely. A "No one's allowed to leave ordinance" would be great. I mean maybe it would need a less creepy title but still.

Well I think they are trying to simulate real life. As in, for say Majora's Mask or something if you want to reset, it's okay because they are not trying to simulate real life. But it New Leaf when you try to reset, Resetti will come and ask you questions. You Reset so he would say; "Whats that? Really? In that case, gimme just one second, will Ya? Kaff kaff! HERE WE GO! AHHHHHH ITS YOU AGAIN. HOW MANY TIMES WE GOTTA DO THIS?! Haaa, haaa... I'm just getting over being sick. I ain't ready for this yet! Well you ain't listen to anyone. Listen here we go. the important part is here. This here is Animal Crossing New Leaf. It's a special case. What I'm suggesting to Ya, ya little twerp, is that Ya try playing the game WITHOUT resetting. Look at it this way: there's no resetong in real life, is there? No course not. That'd be crazy. Look, I know your thinking "this is a game! Leave me alone already!" I hear Ya but... It ain't happening! The reset CENTER is here to enforce the rules, and Ya gotta make peace with that! Think YOU got it rough? When the reset alarm goes off, it don't really matter if I'm eating or taking a bath. I could be dreaming of chocolate- flavoured earthworms... IT DONT MATTER! I gotta dig. End of story. You can't see from up there but I didn't have time to put on my socks and shoes! GAAH! Now then... I'm tired of yappin. How about we call it a day? But listen to me! No more resetting we clear? NOW SCRAM!

Resetti gves a FULL discription on resetting. Part of what I think is that Ocarina of Time perhaps uses in game time, acnl uses real time. Get where I'm going? I'm so happy I could help!

Wild World is a nightmare, when it comes to villagers moving out. You have to play every day, otherwise you might lose you're favorites villagers.

Yes!! I will go a week without playing because I'm busy with work or school or something and then be afraid to play again...it is the worst feeling.

PLEASE. I hate having to TT back and forth whenever I take a break from AC. Also messed up one time and one of my dreamies moved away. I was so sad.
