What are your hobbies? Are they common? Do people around you know about them? I want to know more about what y'all like to do in your spare time.

Besides gaming (ofc), I like baking. I started doing it years ago to relieve stress, it's very fun trying new recipes whenever I can! I made banana break the other day (fast, easy and delicious)

These are my hobbies!

- Video Games
- Writing
- Reading
- Web Design/Graphic Design

These keep me pretty busy! I'd like to add these hobbies to my list eventually:

- Learning piano
- Learning French
- Lego
- Crocheting

Those are nice hobbies! Getting creative is good for you. I actually started to learn french recently, I should pick it up again heh.

I like going to antique and thrift stores, building Lego sets, and I’m trying to learn how to sew and crochet.
Thrifting is so nice, I rarely buy anything just seeing all that well loved stuff makes me feel good too!

My favorite hobbies are drawing, crocheting, listening to music, and playing video games! I've also tried origami, sewing, writing, and a little cooking/baking, but it's been a while. It never hurts to try new things though! You'll end up learning plenty of stuff from your former hobbies that you can use for your current ones. For example, I learned basic techniques for hand-sewing things together and have since used them when crocheting things with multiple parts! ^_^

That said, I want to get back to cooking/baking because it's going to be important later on, but first I need to break out of my notoriously low self-esteem over my skills. (x_x")

—Writing! I guess it could be considered more than a hobby, though. I like writing poems, short stories, and novels (though that requires A LOT of work). Some of my poetry has been published, but nowhere famous…still have yet to publish a story or novel. (though I’ve gotten plenty of rejections)
I submitted one of my stories to a contest, and while it didn’t win, the editor emailed me saying it was shortlisted and they would like to interview me for their blog. I said yes…but I’m waiting on the questions.

—Drawing. Not as good as it as I am with writing, but it’s still fun and I like experimenting with new ideas.

—Birdwatching (not good at identifying based on calls, but I can visually identify them)

—Taking walks

—Listening to music

—Gaming (obviously)

—Learning about history

—Doing my nails

—Spending time with pets

—Volunteering with cats in my community

—WWE and Drag Race…the yin and yang of my interests

My favorite hobbies.. hm.. Aside from gaming, I LOVE listening to music! There's a lot of music I can get lost in for hours, and being autistic makes it even more fun sometimes; because I can listen to the same song over and over and OVER and never get tired of it.

Aside from gaming and music, I do enjoy the following hobbies;

crocheting (despite not being the best at it.. whenever I have to learn something new, I get upset because it's hard ><)

writing (I LOVE writing. Fanfictions, poetry, oc x canon blurbs, roleplaying.. The possibilities are endless!)

collecting trinkets (I used to be really into purse/bag collecting, and I even have a purse organization storage tower where I keep my purse/bag necessities in! I loved the 'pack my bag with me' TikTok trends so much that I decided to hop on board one day xD Aside from collecting bags, I love to collect plushies, cups, anything of my favorite characters.. like Bucky Barnes from the MCU, Pompompurin from Sanrio, Mitsuri from Demon Slayer, Mikey from Tokyo Revengers, etc.. collecting things is both a blessing and a curse to me, because I LOVE spending money, but desperately need to learn how to save my money T^T)

cosplaying (even though I buy most of them, I really enjoy this! I'm not the best with makeup for cosplay though, so that's something I'd like to eventually teach myself, too!)

I'd love to learn or partake in more hobbies this year, though. I don't do much with my life even though I'm 23 and that's when life really should be starting to pick up (at least in my opinion.. maybe I just have a subconscious stigma against it or something).. I'd love to exercise more (going to the gym specifically), learning an instrument (preferably piano, violin, or the clarinet maybe?), learning a new language! I'd love to do so much more this year, because the past few years I haven't done much! I think if I were to learn any language, I'd love to learn Dutch, Russian, German, Korean, or Japanese! I'd also love to learn to make cosplays of my own. A lot of my friends are really crafty and creative when it comes to cosplaying. Maybe I'll get into wig-styling, too! ^_^

Video games, reading, writing, playing billiards, martial arts, watching anime, going hiking, going swimming, etc.

Chess, film, comics, swimming, combat sports, gaming, taking long walks and wandering for hours.

I also like filling out online surveys and mobile game offers for pennies. I've made over $700 from this in 2024. Granted it's not really that much money, but I exclusively use it to pay whatever subscription services I'm interested in. + the extra money is always kinda nice.

TLDR: poetry, reading, writing, drawing, talking, gaming (not very seriously though), and walking.

I don't actually have a lot of hobbies that I do regularly. I think the ones I do the most often are poetry writing, reading (I switch between novels, manga, and fanfiction. Right now I'm in the I-can-only-read-fanfiction state), talking relentlessly with friends, and making dad jokes. They talking doesn't sound like a hobby to be honest, but it's something I really enjoy doing (in the right company. With other people in my school who I don't talk to I freeze up and can't speak).

Some slightly less regular ones are drawing and writing. I don't really write actually stories that much, but I'm getting more into in because of English essay writing. Drawing is something I enjoy, but I lose motivation for it very often. Especially when I'm being forced to draw something in a style I don't like drawing in (being made to do art in school isn't great). Another thing I'm saying I don't do regularly but is still a hobby is walking. I do it most days, but some days I just can't be bothered, so that's why it's in this second category.

This third section is just gaming and despairing. I don't do these all the time, and I take fairly long breaks in between each session.

I don't think many people know about them because hobbies never really come up in conversation unless the person volunteers the information about what they like doing. I think the ones people know least is (in this order): poetry, drawing, writing, gaming, walking, talking, and reading. The dad jokes are very well known, and appreciated by those who understand the importance of terrible puns.

Some hobbies I'd like to get back into are lego and swimming. I used to play with lego all the time until we moved all the boxes into the garage, and now I just don't bother getting them out because the house is cluttered enough. Unfortunately I had to stop swimming due to the lockdowns, and I never went back.

(btw @/Rainbowhorn you should give me your delicious banana bread please and thank you very much)
