Hi and welcome to TBT's Kieran Appreciation Thread!!!

If you don't know who he is, Kieran is one of the main characters of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC officially known as The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. Anyone who has paid attention to some of my posts will know that I'm crazy about him; I've referenced him on occasion through things including my icon, user title, collectibles, and even my username, which is his Japanese name! Plus, he's got great character development and he's simply adorable, so it's no surprise he's one of my fictional crushes. My love for Kieran is so out of this world, you might as well be in shock and exclaim, "Wowzers!"

So...yeah! Rave about Kieran, share fan art of him, or just talk about him here! If you don't like or hate Kieran then that's fine but please be civil about it since this is the Kieran Appreciation Thread.

I’m not very far in the dlc but I want to tell you that I like him a lot! I like how he has a different take on a local story since I personally question a lot that is commonly accepted without question. His personality is endearing too because I’m really shy and I find can relate to him (and the feeling of being an outcast too).

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, which artists did the fan art? (if they don’t want to be credited, then it’s okay! I just am curious since I might want to look up their art to see what else they did).

Haha I don't know who did some of the fan art TBH. ^_^" As I said earlier I discovered most of them through people showing it to me on my profile.

I do know the last two were made by REDCALLISTOY (transcribing from their fan art so I could be wrong) and chaba0720 respectively.

Kieran's such a good character, I'm very close to finishing the 2nd part of the DLC and wish he'd replaced Penny in the main story tbh. I get the Team Star storyline but don't think it's as strong as Nemona or Arven's story.

I think it would've been interesting to see Nemona and Kieran interact as 2 rivals in the gym storyline. 1 having burnout and not having anyone on her level, not knowing where to go next and Kieran juxtaposing her being shy and wanting to be stronger. They could've mentioned Kieran being from Kitikami and hinting at Ogrepon - then developed him even more in the DLC. Hes such an interesting character to me

I am bringing this thread back up to show this!! (Yes there is Kieran merch!!!!) I thought they had already released that but it turns out I was wrong. :P The stickers and plush mascots are my favorites! Hopefully, it will come to the western countries in the future!

P.S. umm, Blueberry Academy and Kitakami aren't in Paldea to my knowledge, lol

I can't believe I missed this thread! Scarlet and Violet is full of great characters, and Kieran might just be my favorite of the bunch. I've talked before about how Ogerpon (and my character too, but mostly Ogerpon) did him so very wrong, but I have to also fuss about the Indigo Disc story now.

Kieran is considered to be a villain for taking things too seriously, but is being a tryhard really so wrong? He is one of the Elite Four of a school heavily focused on Pokemon battles, after all. On the other hand, I am joining Carmine aboard the Drayton Hate Train. He's a manipulative slacker and also mean to poor Kieran after he's already been beaten down - despicable!

We were once Hydrapple rivals, and now we're Hydrapple allies! With a Pokemon partner like this, you don't need Terapagos!

I traded him one of my Friend Ball Applin. His Applin is now a Hydrapple and is part of my Battle Hydrapple Trio. I'm glad that I can use one of the Partner Ribbon trade Pokemon; Kieran might not have been able to win in the story, but sometimes he can vicariously win online!

kieran is my favorite charaction in the DLC! actually he might be my favorite character in SV he was really well written, i love that pokemon decided to make a character who wasnt the standard "I'm happy for you" friend, but someone who also struggles with jealousy and inferiority! His drastic change throughout the DLCs was very much felt that I really wanted him to have Ogrepon and Terrapagos. I understand that for pokedex & completion purposes we do get both legendaries, but I really wish there was some alternative story where Kieran gets both! i would love to see him happy. Really liked the end scene too with the MC as they walk back to blueberry, very well-animated. Overall I'm happy with the direction they took with Kieran!

I liked Kieran at first because he was the shy but nice type (how everyone describes me btw) but he turned out to be one of the most interesting rivals, honestly. He put much more into the story than most of the other rivals. I honestly thought, before part 2 was release, the mythical was behind his sudden change but it was all him not winning Ogrepon from the player. He even had a grudge. That's why I loved how they threw Incineroar in his team. Incineroar represents a heel wrestler... and Kieran's change of personality felt like such a heel turn! He ended up becoming champion He became mean and looked down on everyone. All his friends hated his change of behavior. It was very nice detail.
