The Wii games are more appealing than the DS ones in my opinion.

Possibly because I've never saw a Wii in person. And I'm dying for one.
Finding a Wii this holiday is like finding the Easter Bunny, or atleast in my state.

I find the DS games a lot more appealing myself, because the DS has been at the market for a while and companies know how to use it. I mean... Contra 4... <3

Then again, I've never played my DS alot, and never really played it. But I am now, because I never bothered to complete Pokemon Pearl. (I don't know why I quit, its awesome)

And no, I haven't played Mario and Sonic, but tell me if I miss any detail about the game here:

You play as different characters from Mario and Sonic games, some of them so obscure only those people who write erotic fiction about them know they exist. The gameplay consists entirely of mediocre Wiimote-controlled Olympic minigames. This game averaged a 6.1/10 in the press.

And hardcore is defined as:

The most dedicated, unfailingly loyal faction of a group or organization

Since when are people unfailingly dedicated to minigames starring Mario characters? I'd really like to know about the people who populate this section of the gaming culture.

I guess my main concern is your arbitrary designation of a game as "hardcore" or "casual". Just because Nintendo labels people doesn't mean you need to apply arbitrary classifications to consumers. And basing your review of a game upon whether or not a "hardcore" or "casual" gamer will enjoy the game in your opinion isn't really informing the reader on what to expect from the game.
