Imbri
Resident Night Mare
I got back to town yesterday afternoon around 5:00 or so and saw that it was raining. All of the villagers were trundling about with umbrellas (I really had a hard time not laughing at Rocket with his Lovely Umbrella. I mean, a big, pink gorilla with a lacy, pink parasol? And did I mention, he asked me to give him a new catch-phrase the other day, so I convinced him he should say "princess". *evil grin*)
Anyway, I grabbed my fishing rod and made a bee line down to the ocean. As a former resident of Avalon, I know what rain between the hours of 4-9 calls in. Luck was on my side, too. I ended up catching 6 coelacanth, as well as several sharks, hammerhead sharks, and saw sharks. I don't know if rain brings the shark species in, too, or if that was just a nice coincidence.
I donated several items to the Museum and sold the rest at Re-Tail. I was able to pay off my loan. Yay! I tried to talk to Tom about starting either a basement or second floor, but he kept reminding me that I'd already scheduled construction on a new Purple Fairy Tale Door, so I'll have to wait until tonight to do that. Just as well, since I haven't made up my mind which I'd like yet.
Later, I took a quick jaunt over to the island and managed to score a lot of high-bell beetles, as well as take a few tours. I didn't see anything I really wanted in the gift shop, so I just banked my medals for future use. On one of the tours, the fruit was mango, so I grabbed a few to bring back to plant. I believe the only thing I'm missing now are coconuts.
The only down side to the rain was that areas of town were getting a bit muddy. I really need to find an axe soon so I can start making paths, or there won't be much grass left at all. I hope it'll grow back once traffic slows in those areas. Now that the Gardening Shop is open, maybe I'll incorporate some bushes into the design, along with trees, to create paths. Too bad I can't dig up some of the ones on the island.
