Stack is the max. size of something in your inventory. Like 1 stack of iron = 30 iron, 1 stack of star fragments = 10 fragments and 1 stack of weeds = 99 weeds.

in case of the plants you have to plant them yourself. It's like how you buy them. 1 stack = 10 plants.
