• Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.

Hopes for multiplayer?

My major hope is simply that the 3ds's processing is powerful enough to support all of the animals being out of their houses when you wi-fi, like City Folk, instead of life in the town pretty much stopping until the person leaves in AC:WW. I'm easy to please, heh.

Though part of me is hoping for more than 4 people being allowed to be over at a time as well as more organized ways to do things like fishing contests. The timer was a good start, but wouldn't it be cool if you could just put an item as a prize, pick a fish, and the first person to catch it would automatically get the item?

Or maybe you could choose different rules, like, the person to get the biggest fish in 5 minutes, or most fish in 2 minutes, etc. It'd be neat if there was some automated way to do it. Then the person hosting the town could even just leave it open all day and let people try without being there. I could set it to "first person to catch an ocean sunfish gets this bag of 90,000 bells!" and just go without people having to trust me to give it to them, the game would automatically give it to them once someone meet the prize requirements. Same with bugs. It'd be awesome, but probably never happen.

Maybe some wi-fi minigames that used the animal crossing engine (i.e. involved doing animal crossing tasks) would be fun.

It would be awesome to be able to set game-enforced rules via an options menu that would set what people can and cannot do in your town. If there was just a checkbox that said "No picking up items" or "Visitors can not cut trees" and whatnot, that would make it very easy for every individual person to be able to feel safe on wi-fi, since the game would simply not allow a visitor to do anything that was checked/unchecked. I'd also like wi-fi by default to only count the player's walking/running in terms of grass damage (if it's in 3ds AC) and flower damage. There's no reason another person should be able to destroy your flowers, I mean, think about it. It adds nothing to the game, really. Or maybe you could just prevent them from running with wi-fi settings.

Some sort of menu like this

Guests who visit my town are allowed to...

_ Leave bulletin board messages
_ Send mail
_ Use tools (maybe submenu with exactly what tools you want them to use, so say, you could allow all except axe)
_ Shake trees
_ Pick up items (submenu with types, ex: fruit, furniture, bells, clothing)
_ Drop items
_ Plant trees, bushes, and flowers
_ Run (If unchecked, guests will only walk in your town)

etc.

It'd also work as parental controls for kids whose parents didn't want people to leave them potentially nasty messages, too, I suppose.

I adore everything about every single one of your ideas.

I think these are some of the best ideas yet! I like the checklist one ;)

Hey Guys, There should be lots of options for what people can do in your town.
