So one of the things a lot of people at my work like to do is look on realtor sites for dream homes, and sometimes we look at the really expensive MANSION esc places, sometimes we look at scrubby trash places too, just for fun.

Recently I've been looking for "future" houses at decent prices for when (hopefully) in the future my boyfriend and I have better jobs and a family.

It's really fun to look at them not only for future or dream homes but also because you get to see a lot of different styles on interior decorating, I just found this SUPER PATRIOTIC room in one of the houses I was looking at.

Can you tell they like America? XD
(Just found out this is a staged home, no wonder their interior decorating is so on point!)

But anyways I was wondering if other people do this?

Earlier today we were looking at multi-million dollar mansions in California, me and my three other female coworkers, saying if we all moved in we could maybe afford them, if we didn't use any utilities. XD

I always go on real estate websites and look at the most expensive houses they've got....would never be able to afford them of course, but it's nice to have a look at what's out there.
I like to look at houses in different areas and countries too. I was looking at a house in Australia the other week. Wouldn't be able to move there, but I like having the dream

I don't go to any websites in particular, but I used to watch HGTV all the time cause I enjoy seeing the houses.

I'm more interested into designing houses than looking for houses. I had this one HGTV architect program installed to my computer. I was able to design houses the way I want. You can even put in furniture, outdoor items, window treatments, and wall elements.

I did go house hunting once, but it was to look for a real house to live in.

Sometimes I skim through the houses/cars for sale in the newspaper. It's alright to 'have the dream' but it always makes me feel bad since I'm not made of money.

There's this one house not far from where I live now, that was empty for the longest time, and every time I passed by on my way to/from school I wished I could live there one day. I'm really not happy that there's some people living there now. They moved in just a couple, maybe a few years ago. So, they'll probably be there for a long time... I've honestly never loved the look of any house more than this one, and I can't live in it when I move out :(

I'm doing this for real because our lease ends soon, but I also watch heaps of HGTV and love judging people on what house they pick on House Hunters aha

I live in Sydney (apparently the second-most expensive city in the world based on income:house price ratio) and it's really depressing knowing that my partner and I will pretty much never be able to own a home without going into some serious debt
I get so jealous of the prices on HGTV (even though I know that wages are much lower in America so it's all comparative, seeing a huge house going for $350K is such a shock!!)

i loved the show on tv where they make your home look less crappy, i forgot what it was called but i loved it

Not really, a lot of those homes have the same "bright and fresh" decoration and/or styled to show off if someone wants to buy tbh.

I love looking at houses... whether it's occupied or an open house. I like to imagine how other people live in their spaces with their things, or how I'd live in that space. Kinda weird but I day dream a lot. Maybe because I didn't grow up with a lot of stuff. I want to live in a tiny house one day but I've never actually seen one in person (besides tiny New York apartments but that doesn't count).

Where I was looking there were a lot with neat decorations, one house had a full sized merry-go-round pony as a decoration in their hallway(and they had no kids) and there was one house where everything was really dark, like this deep burgundy in the dining room and nice dark carpets and paint throughout, it was really beautiful! They often try to paint everything white and do the whole "blank slate" look because a lot of people want that.
