How are you enjoying the game so far?

I LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH!!!
The graphics, the mechanics, the DIY element, everything! It's only day two of having it, but I haven't had this much fun in a while! =^-^=

I'm really loving it. The slow progression at the beginning is really slow, but it makes it feel even more exciting when you finally get that pole vaulting stick. It will feel even better when I finally get that ladder and can climb onto that second layer! I have found that my friend group is playing it too, so it is really fun to send each other quick messages and see if they want some things that I have.

Today, I did a Nook Ticket trip and found an island filled with bamboo. I don't really like bamboo, but I knew my friends did. So I collected as much as I could and then had them come over and dig up their own bamboo trees and mailed them their own bamboo shoots. That was really fun!

Then I fell into the pro-designing hole. I will probably never be to the level that other people are at, but it is really fun to make my own designs. Face paint is really interesting to play around with too. I spent a good two hours making a custom hoodie design for my husband to match a pair of green pixel sunglasses that fell out of a balloon gift that I didn't want. I can't wait for Halloween! Custom costumes are going to be so fun!

It's really fun, though I have an issue with the animals' dialogue.

The tanukis and other NPCs are written excellently, but the villagers... it's not that their dialogue is bad, but then I go online to watch people play the game and I see their animals (different from those I got) repeat the exact same dialogue. I know animals with the same personalities usually draw from the same "pool" when it comes to dialogue, but in New Leaf it's not like they all said the exact same thing in the exact same order. It breaks the immersion a little. I'm hoping it improves somewhat once the island expands and you get more villagers?

Still, that doesn't change the fact that I'm having a blast with this game.

No luck on catching a tarantula (one appeared on the title screen though ). Also found a bunch on white bugs on one the black rocks on the beach but didn't catch one. I could have sworn I swing my net right in the center of them.

One of them appeared right outside my house--and me being an arachnophobe, I just about had a heart attack, because it reared up and prepared to charge.

i love it so much! i think i'm playing it a little TOO much to be honest because quarantine, but i'm loving the slow pace a lot. can't wait for my museum to finish being built tomorrow, and i invited two villagers so far (i want sherb as my lazy!!! or someone else i like), so hopefully they come soon too (my current villagers probably hate me bc i talk to them too much).

I'm loving it so far! The miles and miles+ tasks keep things reasonably fresh since there's so much variety. I would say my one critique so far is that my animals are kind of boring. They're still on about how great the deserted island is. It's not necessarily repetitive yet, but the only interesting things they've done are give me a recipe for an umbrella and a recipe to make medicine.

Not enjoying it. Corona virus shut down all game release in California. Gamestop couldn't release the games
A few days earlier apparently and so the day it was release, the store closes. So I had to download it instead with
my basic slow internet (600kbps) because no high speed services is offer here (same price) and it won't be finish
Until Monday... Not to mention since everyone is staying home, internet download speed is even slower than usual

I'm definitely going to time travel so I can catch up to you guys whereas I have never time travel in the past. Worst
release of any game I have ever experience in my life. Nothing can seem to go right. 14 years waiting and still have
to put up with this stuff. Didn't want to buy digital since this is the only game I really play. If I was in the Netherland,
I would have had this game several days before the release since the store end up closing on release day.

Sorry this is my rant, very frustrated and tire.

It's... good, but not my favourite in the series by any stretch so far. I'm not immediately taken with it the way I was with AC or NL, if I'm being totally honest.
