Hello! ^w^
What have you done/are planning to do with the houses of your human characters? Share here, and include pictures if you wish!

Here's my contribution:
Mayor's house: Well, it's designed like a real life house. The main room acts as a lounge, with a bookshelf, a music player and a rose sofa. There is also a fireplace, where I put the current year's zodiac animal (for luck, right?) and next to the fireplace, I like to put a seasonal item that changes each month- currently it's a white festive tree, for instance. In front of the fireplace there is a princess sofa and a princess table, complete with a book and cup of coffee. Oh, and there's a pet goldfish, too, named after my favourite food- Mochi. Usually I'd have a flower screen thing by the rose sofa, but I had to remove it for this month as my white festive tree wouldn't fit otherwise. My right-side room is very small-it's a bathroom. It comes with a fancy modern shower, the compulsory sink, as well as a bathtub, though I was considering putting a whirlpool bath in there instead. I guess I can change this around according to my preferences. Oh and obviously there's a toilet- must be realistic! I'll add the bathroom shelf too as soon as I see it at Harvey's. To add a finishing touch, hanging on the wall I have a bathrobe.
My left-side room is a kitchen. Now I have a problem with it currently because I need to find a space to put a table for my character to eat! Or I might add a dining room, but then I'd have to rearrange my main room. Currently, there's a bunch of counters and of course a stove, kitchen island, and such. There are tables and counters with things like toasters, smoothie machines, and so on. There's a fridge and a milk case, because my character (and me) loves milk. Plus there's a chocolate fountain, frequented by my character at 3am. Since the kitchen isn't fully expanded, I might expand it to fit a table for me, but I'm still unsure.
Next- the upstairs room! My character's bedroom. The room size isn't fully expanded, which is perfect for me. The sleek carpet is soft and fuzzy- perfect. I am super happy with this room; in the top left corner is my character's bed, it's a regal bed in light blue. Next to it is an exotic end table, and on it is the seashell music box playing Stale Cupcakes. Next to is a cherry blossom lamp, above which on the wall is the cherry blossom clock, because it's pretty. Next to the lamp is a lovely phone, used by my mayor to make important mayor phone calls, but also to prank-call Nook. Her town, her rules. Then there's a white regal dresser, which is against the right wall, which stores everything, from clothes to tea. Next to it is a regal vanity (is that what it's called?), which has a minimalist minitable next to it with a make-up case on top. There is a sleek chair behind the vanity. Next to that is a computer desk complete with an office chair (I really need to upgrade to the white office chair...) where my character spends most nights on the Internet while listening to the waves of the sea clashing with the beach. In the bottom left corner there is a rose sofa, and against the left wall are two mannequins; one with PJs and one with a day outfit. Also, there's a lovely clock on the wall opposite the bed, so that she can immediately tell what time it is after waking up.
The bottom room is largely inspired by zashiki. The central part is a kotatsu, to keep warm and cosy, with cushions around it to improvise zabuton (before you could sit on cushions I used marshmallow chairs lol). On the kotatsu is delish food- a kaiseki meal, sushi, zen tea set and donburi. There is a shoji screen wall and tatami floor- the wall is decorated with paper lamps and a Noh mask. To improve the atmosphere, a lily record player plays King K.K.- the closest to shamisen music I can get. The edges of the room are decorated with dango, rice cake, go board, lovely doll and ikebana, a hagoita and azalea bonsai. I love this room so much ;-; There is a sanshin too, closest I could get to shamisen. I was considering changing this room to a dining room and sticking with just the Japanese restaurant.
OKAY! Next room- my side character, Sakura. Her house is a school; Sakura High School. This school is kinda inspired by my old school, which was small and had one classroom per year group, with up to 16 pupils per year. The main room has drink and snack machines, a soda fountain, an espresso machine, a water dispenser and also a reception desk. The drink and snack machines, according to my imagination, have lots of things, even mochi The up room (not upstairs) is the classroom with four desks seating two students each, with homework sets. On one of the desks is a coffee cup, there's a world map and at the front a large blackboard. The teacher's desk has a laptop and globe, there is a basic clock above the board, and on the other side of the board is a bin, tea set, water dispenser and corkboard. During the 15-minute morning and afternoon breaks students like to make tea and pass it out, because who doesn't like tea? The left room is a similar classroom to the first, but the desks are two individual desks put together, and the chairs have cushions haha. The floor and wall design is different, and the teacher's desk has a perfect apple. There's a corkboard but no water dispenser or tea set :c Floor and wall is different too, and there's also a map. Left classroom has different floor and wall and there are 8 separate desks. There is an old fashioned globe, there's a bin and corkboard, and there's a plant, but again- no tea set or water. Go upstairs and reach the science lab; nothing is that different except the anatomical models and the science tables, and a chemistry flask on the teacher's desk. Downstairs is a computer lab, but it functions as a normal classroom too- as long as the keyboards are put away. This classroom is very minimalistic, and the students in the last year usually have this classroom, but they switch classrooms with other years when they have a computer class. There is a corkboard though.
Next, those are my plans:
Violet: I plan this to be a kind of facility complex. Since this house is in the four-seasons garden, the main room changes each season; an ice palace in winter, a lush meadow in spring, a beach in summer, and an autumn forest in ... autumn. Then, the other rooms will act as a:
-grocery store- complete with ice-cream displays and shaved-ice makers, as well as coffee machine. I will use Harvey's store shelves and some of the 7-11 set.
-library: comfortable chairs, complete with books about anything and everything. Free tea and cookies! Space to study, do homework or just draw and write.
- Japanese restaurant: A bigger version of my zashiki room. Japanese decor, complete with conveyor belt sushi and a wide range of Japanese food. Kotatsu to keep warm during cold winter nights! Japanese music playing and everything from sushi to wagashi.
-sports centre: Space to play basketball or volleyball or tennis; not exactly a gym, just a fun place to play sport! Might add a bowling lane to this room too. Since the town is so small, one lane is enough
-I think there was another idea, but I can't remember. I'll add it if I remember. Oh- a doctor's office! I'll add this too; if you character has the flu, where else to go? I'm not sure about adding this room.
Finally; Rose! A cute and cosy cafe in town. With a pastel theme, there will be lots of sweets and a range of drinks, including seasonal ones! Cute and comfortable seating, fancy music playing, delicious food- this will be one room only, I think fully upgraded. But I can't wait to get this done.
Okay, this was very long >w<
