How can I know if a username is taken before I buy the name change?

I really just want my name to be "Ariel" but I don't want to buy the change and it be taken.

Every time I do the advanced search for the name, it comes up with nothing, but it still pops up when I type it in.

i looked through the members list and there's doesn't appear to be a user called ariel, i assume when you type it in to get your new username it would tell you it's taken like when we first signed up though?

I know it'll tell me, but you know, I don't want to buy it and then not have a change if it is taken. Idk.

I should probably also ask: is there some sort of blocker on it that won't let you put in an irl name or a basic name? Cause I feel like I've never seen one? And my irl name isn't ariel, so it's not an issue for me, but idk if there's a block for it because you're not really supposed to give personal info I believe.

Ariel is taken so is Ariel.

If the username is taken. Ht doesn't show on the members list I'm p sure it means they're banned, since banned members don't show, but you can easily bypass it by starting a new PM, and typing the username in the user field, since banned members still show when sending a PM.
