how do you feel about yourself?

I also struggle with self-confidence and thats mainly because Im a young teen in the midst of transitioning to male. To feel better I kinda just,,, bought things for myself. A comfort item for me is big jackets with pretty patterns. I also take some time to just,, look at myself in the mirror and point out things that I like about myself. Sometimes I repeat compliments people give me to myself and i really try to hammer in that I matter. And if you can't buy things for yourself, kinda just plan for the future. Like just think about how you can help yourself. Or take the old route and just look at pictures of cute animals lol

i don't and never have liked myself, very critical of myself and i have a very low self-esteem. frankly, i blame the people whom i was raised around and i also thank them for discouraging me to be what they are but i feel as though im gonna end up the same albeit in different circumstances. I feel useless, lonely even when I'm in a room full of people and all the other generics.

I obviously hope I'm wrong about how things may end up but I'm not a happy person and wasn't really a happy kid because I couldn't be.

I grew up being excluded every day at public middle school during lunch, so that impacted me somewhat, but I switched to private high school and made a bunch of friends, developed a sense of humor instead of being serious all the time (because of my Aspergers or ASD), and learned how to socialize. Then, when I got to university 2-3 years ago a whole new world opened up for me as I learned how to laugh love, and live, and met a bunch of acquaintances who I still see from and talk to from time to time. On the other side of things I struggled a lot growing up because I played a bunch of MMORPGs and visited several forums before this one, and let’s just say I had pretty bad experiences. It was during 2017-2018 that I was pretty depressed because of it and it even impacted my grades, making me have to switch majors. This past year though... I have nothing but good things to say because I really came into my own and am doing well in university. I think being on TBT helps as literally everyone on this site is kind in some way or fashion, even the ones who don’t outright show it. That’s why I’ll always love TBT and won’t ever leave like I did those other sites and games.

I wanted to say though that I in order to be truly confident, I learned something important in the past couple years. There’s so many other people living nowadays that it’s not good to focus on yourself too much. When you do things for others it not only helps them, but makes you feel good about yourself. I’ve given a lot back to the community here locally IRL and to others, and I try not to focus on myself too much anymore. Almost everything I do in my daily life now is not for myself, but for everyone around me and who I come into contact with. There’s something about empathizing with others and making others happy that just makes me happy. I basically just learned that life isn’t about me, at all. Keep your head up, stay committed, be humble, and pay it forward. That’s my philosophy on life and it always will be. :)

I have my up days and down days. The only thing that bothers me is just how young I look.

I struggle a lot with low self-esteem because I was bullied my whole life at school and abused by my mother at home. Now that I am on my own, I have been learning to love myself by focusing on self-care and self-acceptance. It is still a struggle, but I am learning to love myself and think positive.

i struggle alot with my self esteem i gotta be confident and i gotta be happ that i tried my best at things i also struggle with my anxiety and depression sometimes it can be a little unbearable but i also kinda feel a bit better about myself as i grew older i tried my best to care for others but also try to care for my mental health aswell even tho i'm not entirely satisfied with myself i feel like its good that i'm trying everyday to enjoy things and try my best to love myself. for all of those people out there that are down on their luck or unhappy with yourself i think you are great and deserve validation it can be hard sometimes but i believe in you! do your best!

I personally hate myself but I don't struggle with confidence, it's weird. I usually use negative statements to motivate myself and it works. XD

I have always been confident and satisfied in who I am, but I know not everyone is born into a situation where that is the case. I have learned a lot over my young years like everybody else, though.

If you want to improve your own self-esteem, one of the best things to do is stop thinking about your feelings towards yourself. I know that it is easier said than done, but usually breaking the toxic habit of thinking about yourself is done by helping and complimenting others. Considering other people's feelings and situations helps you realize that you're not the only person going through tough times. You will also grow emotional intelligence which will help you realize that a lot of your worries aren't actually worth any attention.

If you want any more advice or just to talk, you can always PM me! Hope this helps. :)

I tend to be carefree and relaxed. That?s how I feel every day. Sometimes the world turns upside down or I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, but that?s my personality.

I don't hate myself but am very uncomfortable in social situations. I think I have some good qualities, but I often worry that my lack of social skills will cause everyone to feel awkward and dislike me and not give me a chance. As a result I never really put myself out there and I don't have any friends irl. However I've come to realize that I probably think myself into being more awkward than I actually am and have made myself feel worse about myself over the years, so I'm trying to learn to fake being confident and not talk myself down.

I'm feeling great despite feeling dumb in a few occassions. :p

I feel bad for people who don't feel good though. Really makes me want to think the primary source of this issue rather than to just solve the surface of the problem.

I'm hard on myself, certainly. In the past I used to believe that I did not deserve the good things that happened to me or the love of others. Lately I have been a LOT better in this respect, though. I know I'm capable of achieving a lot of things, so I try to push myself towards that.

I try to hide my lack of self-esteem with humour a lot. I also tend to talk a lot about myself (maybe because I never had the occasion to before?), I'm also very annoying concerning parties, people and all that. Like I can't go to my friends birthday parties cuz there's gonna be alcoholo (which i hate SO much, even people drinking it makes me feel so bad) and a lot of people, most of the time that I don't know.
Bverrall I kinda like me like I know what I'm good at but I'm bad at so many things too and it's very annoying.
I can't know if I'm beautiful or not cuz idk I just can't "process" how my face looks when I look in the mirror, but I guess that's like everyone else.
I try to gain confidence in myself every day little by little with small things, such as taking care of my face and eating normally, aswell as having a decent sleep schedule.
It may not seem linked whatsoever but it helps and it makes you feel good and a bit acomplished once you do it.
So yeah I don't have that much of a negative opinion on myself but I definitely think I could be better.

I always attempt to do everything to prevent myself from seeming too negative or dark but I just really don't like myself and recently have been cringing at almost everything I did or do now. My family always tries to make me feel otherwise but it doesn't really affect me in the long term. Recently I've been slacking off heavily in doing things so it just makes me feel even more awful about myself.

you know what?.. i love myself. even though i look like a burnt chicken nugget, i still love myself.

yeah but seriously, i'm pretty good with myself. i don't like certain things about myself but for the most part, i still have pretty average confidence and self esteem.
