I don't get how you make it...Is there like a special "pixelated brush" to use or something xD That sounded so dumb omfg lmaoo

I use the binary tool in Paint tool Sai

I'm not familiar with Sketchbook (or any other program besides Sai, to be honest) but hopefully there is a similar tool that you can use

i recall you saying you have a mac. theres an sai for mac that doesnt have pressure sensitivity, but you dont need that for pixels. just download that.

Lmao, imagine me using a mouse...It'd look like ****. Anyway, how do I get that tool?

Well.. I mean I don't think there will be a huge difference, using a pen just seems more convenient to me than using a mouse. Same results though since you don't need any pressure or stabilization for pixel art.

I'm not sure about SketchBook but in Sai, there should be a tool called the "Binary" tool, where the rest of the other tools are at (Pen, Airbrush, Marker, etc) . You can set the size however you want, I usually pick Size 1 since I work on small canvases for pixel art

Ah alright, thanks so much! I-I'll give it a go

Not a problem, I wish you good luck and hope you enjoy it! It's pretty fun but don't strain your eyes too much and don't forget to take breaks

I imagine the only thing good about using a tablet with pixels would be to draw the base you'd try to mimick beforehand.

I've never done pixels tho so

Painstakingly. One pixel at a time.
These were done with a mouse on Photoshop using the pencil tool, and lots of people even use Paint

ya, break your tablet, wtf. you can use a sketch from your tablet as a ref though! you're placing little squares by clicking. all you need is ms paint. and eye for color and patience for making ugly things become pretty.

For pixel art when I used to do it I would use MSPaint and use my mouse one pixel at a time. Just use the pencil tool and then zoom in and once you're done you can increase the size to whatever you want and it will maintain the square pixels.
