Finally starting back up an Island after my game was lost last summer, and thinking about how I’m going to approach spring:

Is March (northern hemisphere) warm or cool? Already T-shirt, or still sweater weather?

It got me wondering how others perceive the temperatures throughout the year, (especially March and September, the start of spring and fall) and how much—if at all—it influences their character’s outfit choices.

Just a random question to consider for those still here!

Personally I’m thinking lighter clothes with long sleeves right now

I think a t shirt is perfect. It's not cold enough anymore to need a jacket but there is a pleasant breeze in the beginning of spring.

I am the kind of person who changes their characters clothes every day and depending on the weather, lol.

Do you change it to something entirely different every day, or have a set of favorites that you rotate through?

I probably have about ten set outfits per season, and I just choose among those. Coming up with new combos every day overwhelms me and eats up too much of my time. haha

Probably a bit of both. I do change it to something different every day, but sometimes I gravitate towards certain combos with similar patterns. for example in the spring I like to wear the tied-button up shirts with flower pattern skirts. But yeah I totally get that it's time consuming lol. there are times when I'm lazy and change like just the shirt. :p

I generally keep the same outfit on, but I am no stranger to wearing other outfits and they never pertain to the weather. I think the snowy months might change that aspect.

Spring and Fall irl are sweater weather to me. In game, I don't feel affected and go by mood/color.

I treat it however it's like where I live. In game there's no snow but there's still snow here so I dress my character up with a hat and coat.

I try to wear layered things in March, or long sleeves and long skirts. I wear lots of the lighter looking kimono in Spring.
In Summer I wear more tropical island themed stuff with strongly contrasting colors. I also do no or short sleeves, and tend to wear more casual top bottom combos rather than one piece outfits.
Fall I wear yellow, orange, and red colors more often. I do more dresses in both fall and winter.
Winter I'm usually wearing long dresses or long, ornate kimono. I'll also wear the puffy or fur lined stuff. But occasionally I'll wear things that don't match the cold that I just like, because I tend not to like sweaters in Animal Crossing.

I change every day or two, and have a huge wardrobe. I'll do dress up all year fairly often. Usually fantasy based clothes - a princess or magical girl, peasant clothes or wizard or steam punk outfits.

Where I am the weather is incredibly unpredictable; just last week it was cold enough to warrant warmer clothing but now it's dreadfully hot and I'm wishing it was cold again lol
Year-round though, it's mostly hot (even in winter it can be hot sometimes 😩)

So for me, when in-game March rolls around I'd be more inclined to dress my villager in lighter clothing 😆

Generally, things with sleeves. But coats are totally sometimes warm. Where I am at we can potentially have ice storms. We aren't safe from potential cold weather until mid May. This year, it has been warm so far. Today for example you could be out in a T shirt and last month you just needed a light jacket.
I tend to dress my character reflecting how I currently feel temp wise, and how it is outside irl.

I like to think about the weather around me, except it'll be 30 degrees one day and then it'll be 80 degrees. So I tend to switch between the two.

i actually don’t let the weather influence what my island rep wears. i tend to wear the same outfit for at least a few months, usually longer, so i end up wearing the same outfit through different seasons. i just wear whatever i like, even if that means i end up wearing short-sleeves in the winter, and long-sleeves in the summer. right now, my island rep’s wearing a long-sleeved custom dress, and i don’t see myself changing my outfit anytime soon, even when spring comes and the temperatures get warmer. my island rep wore the same outfit through fall and winter as well. it’s definitely not an outfit i would wear during the winter irl, but i just try to have fun with my outfits in-game and wear whatever i like, even if it’s not weather-appropriate lol.

I really don't care what I wear. I just made my custom design outfit that is literally just a coat painted black with a Blue Heart on it. Its simple but it doesn't really bother me.

Even when the clothes affected animations for your villager in NL I never bothered to dress appropriately for the season. They'd always go out in the hottest months of the Summer in thick long sleeve shirt/pants and do the animation bit where they sweat/fan themselves.

I don't bother to dress for the weather/season.

I don't usually dress according to the weather, but on the occasion I will. Like, wearing a coat and such.

I like to wear seasonal clothes when possible, and temperature appropriate to the weather where I live. Right now I'm still rocking my heart sweater for Valentine's Day 🥰 I'll probably change to something green soon, and then some pastels in April until it's hot here and I want my character back in shorts & a t-shirt.

I don’t let the weather dictate what my character wears. He always wears the same outfit regardless of the weather/season.

I always wear jackets / hoodies / sweaters no matter the time or weather, so no. I'll go from pants to shorts occasionally, though. I used to change my outfit depending on the seasons, since I first got the game in summer of 2020 so my character would wear T-shirts and I'd change to long-sleeves during the colder months.

The weeks in between the changing of seasons is kind of odd for me, since the only thing I change seasonally about my outfit are the pochettes. For example, I was wearing the snowflake pochette before since it was winter, but I changed it now that it's almost spring. I'll wear the cherry-blossom pochette once it gets to that point. For the 'in-between times', I just go with a 'neutral' pochette, like the star one.

i only wear one outfit (that im still trying to complete) and it looks like something i would actually wear irl
