How does preorder work with a download copy?

So I preordered the download from the eshop, but I've never done that before and as I've been watching the days count down I've gotten very excited. But... It said yesterday one day til distribution. Today... It still says one day til distribution. How does that work? When does it begin distribution? I'm excited and annoyed that it hasn't started yet because it's almost noon and I wanted to play it when my kids were napping, I'm guessing that's not going to happen today... So anyone who's done a digital pre order before, can you explain what's going to happen and when?

According to the Nintendo eShop inside my 3DS, if you pre-downloaded the game the game is locked inside your system until midnight Eastern Standard Time on 9/25 - later tonight!

Then a final bit of information will be downloaded to your system.

Depending on your time zone you should be able to play sometime tonight!

So not til midnight? That's kind of a bummer. For some reason I thought it was coming today sometime. Wish I was west coast so I could actually play before bed instead of having to wait til tomorrow. Boo.

I bought mine that way too and it always counted down at 5pm my time so I was assume I'd be able to play it at five but I guess I'll be playing it at 9pm my time :3
