I got it for Christmas the year it came out. I think it was 2002. But I was little back then, so when it asked me where I wanted to go, I didn't know it wanted me to name my town. So I took it literally by mistake. I tried to write disney world, but it wouldn't fit. So I tried to come up with a place I wanted to go that was under 8 letters, and the best I could come up with is "woods". And when I got off the train, I actually thought that it worked because the town does look like it's in the woods. Later, I wished that I would of called my town "city" because I thought that it would be a city instead of a forest. That's kind of funny, huh? So when I saw City Folk, I had a bit of Deja Vu. So to this day, the name of my town in the GameCube version is "woods".

But in Wild World, they made it more clear that they wanted me to name my town, so I named it "ToadTown", after the capital of the Mushroom Kingdom in the Mario games.

With City Folk, I'm thinking of naming my town "Nintown". Does anybody have any better ideas?

EDIT: On a side note, I wanted to name the island in the GC version "Leaf Beach Island", but that didn't fit. So I tried to abbreviate it, resulting in it being named "lf bch il" or something like that.
Also, one time my little brother set the clock in the game forward to 2099 because he thought that everything in the game would be futuristic like in The Jetsons. He was wrong. The only thing that happened was that every square inch of the town was filled up with weeds and my favorite animal in the town had moved away. I made him pick all of the weeds. But then I found out that he just had Wisp do it.
I got a good name for my town but one for you is: anivill or something (stands for animal village) Good luck finding one

I have played it since the Gamecube Original came out. I got the game for my Birthday I think. I got AC:WW a while later, and it blew my mind. I didn't even know it existed until my cousin showed me it. Then I was like, wtf? Animal Crossing on DS? I was really about to sell my DS because I couldn't find any good games. When I saw Animal Crossing, I was hyped. I started a character on my cousins game, and played it whenever I had the chance. Now I must start over again with City Folk. Hoo-Rah!

i never knew about it then one day my friend was playing it and resseti poped up and i was all like .. who's he?? then he let me play his and then the next week I owned it :D

OH yes, I came upon animal crossing by accident the first one I got was game cube in maybe the year 2000. my sister got it first then I played it and I LOVED THE GAME SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! after about 4 years I still played the game but I lived in the basement of my house well anyways I lost the animal crossing and my game cube in a FLOOD THAT HIS OUR LITTLE TOWN!!!!! ): Well luckily after about two year we have recovered and now I have a wii and a nintendo d.s. I have animal crossing for d.s but im hoping to get the one for wii as soon as I can!!! I was a little depressed after the flood hit but I feel much better now.

I rented it and HATED it because I was always lost. Then I saw a show on G4 called Cheat and they showed what you could do with time traveling and the different items. I rented it again and loved it. So then I got the guide and got the game for Easter. I always get the guide first, until now... stupid Prima not giving us a guide until the day of the game.
