I have spoken to a Nintendo of Europe rep and they checked with their colleague and I can now confirm that the interest rate for Animal Crossing New Leaf is 0.5% which means that you must have saved nearly 20,000.000 Bells to get the full interest.

I really want to become an extremely rich person like I was in Animal Crossing Wild World and Animal Crossing Let's Go to the City before I concentrate on the public works projects and my house expansions.

Avoid the Miyami Stag's and Dynastid Beetle's. Catching everything else should get you around 400k once you fill up the shipping box. Always works for me.
