Years ago when I initially voted on this poll I selected "female" but since have had a very complicated relationship with my gender identity. It's funny years into my life finally coming to some very clear realizations that I feel I should have known about MUCH sooner. Looking back, I mean I should have considered myself non-binary from a very young age.

I'm male. I was taking a carpentry course not too long ago and I think one of the fellas was making fun of me for mentioning that I play Animal Crossing.

He'd sometimes ask me, "Gonna go home and play some Animal Crossin'!?"

It may not be too popular with dudes, so I'm not surprised if most of the users are female.

Male. Although maybe not so much in a societal sense. I'm emotionally sensitive and cry at things. Also probably way more open than I should be.

My hobbies are definitely more male centered. I like traditional male sports and movies. (and chess, I play lots and lots of it). Once you get into the tournament scene it's mostly guys.

I've been playing Animal Crossing with my sister for years.

I am also male, and refrain from mentioning that I play animal crossing at work. The department I work in is male dominated and they talk about Call of Duty nonstop, or games like it. I brought up Animal Crossing once and got some funny looks.

My only real life friend who plays it is actually my managers wife, so at least I have someone to talk to that I know personally!

I'm bigender, so I chose non-binary on the poll! I'm both a guy and a girl. I usually choose female player characters in games though since I like their designs better haha. I can get along with anyone of any gender as long as they're friendly! :]

Holy moly that's a lot of girls on this forum!

Well atleast I'm not lonely though

Wow this thread is pretty surprising considering the trac record of the gaming community idk why more dudes don’t play this game it’s pretty awesome

Male. My wife who detests videogames, overheard the ladies at her work talk about ACNH (newly released at the time) and she got a bad case of FOMO. Shortly after, she came home with a brand-new Switch Lite and a copy of New Horizons.

I had minimal experience with New Leaf but I lost interest in less than a month but watching her play this new game reignited my interest in the franchise. I eventually got a copy for myself and it's been something we'll do together nearly every day for 4 years now.

I'm a guy, but I'm also comfortable with they/them. I had previously said both male and nb on the poll, but I've changed it to just male for the reason that just because I'm comfortable with nb pronouns (they/them), doesn't mean I'm actually nb. Just a psa : P

Edited my vote from nonbinary to female. Came to terms with my sexuality and gender identity. Not giving up on masc clothing though, nuh-huh.

These statistics are very surprising. I really always thought the AC community was very balanced on the Male/Female end, but I guess not

My profile pic may be deceiving, but I’m definitely a woman. 💅🎀👠 (Not that you have to be a girl to enjoy these things…but irl I’m a girly girl.)

I'm male. tbh I never got the impression of the Animal Crossing fanbase being female-dominated. I had plenty of male friends that played Animal Crossing when I was in middle school and high school. Of course, I haven't seriously played Animal Crossing in about 10 years so maybe it's changed. In the Wild World days it seemed like a 50/50 split.
