How much can you modify your villager’s interior?

Like, if I give my villager all kinds of furniture, will they use all of it?

Usually, they'll use what they want or like and keep it around until they eventually replace it with something else. They've used most of what I've given them so far, though there have been exceptions.

During the 1st week of the game's release, I gave Scoot something through the mail and he didn't use it (as far as I can recall). He did use an exercise ball I gave him the next day.

So far I've only had them change clothing I've given them and a few of them have put out the fish I gifted. None of the furniture I've donated has been used yet though... =(

I gave them Easter wreaths and most put them on their doors. I am hoping if I give them something else to hang on their doors they will change them.

I don't think so. The only things you can reset with Isabelle's help at the town hall are their clothing and catchphrase.

Have you given them any furniture that you know they would really like? I've had 3 villagers who often put up most of what I've given to them, which is usually furniture or fish (as far as indoor items are concerned).

I've given both Agnes and Scoot wallpaper and flooring since they upgraded their tents into houses, but they've never used them.

Its really unfortunate that your first 5 villagers have default houses, it makes me want to kick out a few of my residents because it's really unpleasant

I'm thinking about doing this as well. It would be especially painful because one of my favorite villagers would have to go and somehow get brought back.

Yea it really sucks because I love most of my villagers
