Once I complete a set, I won't have a need to trade extras so I'm curious, what would appropriate prices be for singles of these cards?

I'm speaking more in general terms of special/NPC and normal characters, as opposed to prices for a specific card. What I'm seeing in places seems a bit overpriced to me, I wouldn't want to charge some of the prices I'm seeing, but I'm not quite sure what people would see as fair.

I'd pay up anywhere from $1.25 to $1.50 for a single amiibo card, as packs of six go for $5.99 where I am.

I think that around 2 dollars or less is a reasonable price. Also, European amiibo cards are a rip off. 3 cards for the same price as the US card packs which include 6 cards....

As far as buying packs, I'm still debating on buying some or not. I only want certain villagers so when I considered buying single cards online, i'd say $1.50 is about the price that appeals to me xD

If I was in the US, $2
Since I'm in Australia, and they sell 3 cards for $5, I'd say $2.50 AUD

Yeah, that's really unfortunate. 8( At that point it seems cheaper to import en masse. Good luck! ;;

And thanks for the responses! I figured that might be around the fair range. Some of the prices I saw were outrageous.

I would pay 2-3 dollars per card. Maybe a little more for NPCs as they seem harder to get.
Plus I'm Canadian and our dollar compared to American dollar sucks so everything is more expensive than down there.

Ouch! Someone from Canada recently commissioned me and the difference is really noticeable. ;; Another reason to try and keep my prices low if it comes to selling.

I'd pay up to $5 on a jp only/magazine insert amiibo card.

Oop, I hadn't even considered that! I hope they find a way to bring that over.

On ebay you could get 3-5$ depending on who the villager. All Japanese special cards seem to go for 15-20$. It might sound ridiculous to some people but if you sell on ebay that's about the right price if you want to make a profit after PayPal and ebay take their percent. Oops re-reading your post it seems like your aware how much the go for. I think to many people just see it as $6 a pack means $1 per card, but that's not how you price things irl ><

I just bought Bob and Digby on ebay for a decent amount, Under $4 each including shipping. Probably only going to buy select cards though.. too expensive to complete a collection like this. I just really wanted those two.

Haha how is the special NPC card output in the packs overthere? I mean we get 3 cards but one of them always is a special NPC card.

As far as I know, they still get one special card per pack so 1 special card and 5 villagers per 6 cards. Which, considering there are about 17 special characters in a series is actually really good for them. 16.7% of cards in their packs are special characters and 17% of cards in a series are special characters which is even and gives a good distribution of them.
Everywhere else gets 33% of cards as special cards so we'll have more special cards and it'll be harder to get the villagers for those who want them all. :(

This is just bs like seriously, why are they doing this? It does not make sense at all! I can not think of a single reason why they did this omfg.

I'm not sure I'd be able to charge $20 for a special, haha. ;;

Yeah, completing card sets can get quite out there. I have a more expensive set I'm collecting though, so the amiibo cards are much nicer to my wallet in comparison.

We do always get one special per pack as well.

My friend just bought me Molly for $5, yay
How nice of them! Do you have all the cards you're looking for so far?

I'm not sure why they set the cards up like that, but it kinda sucks. Good luck to you 3-card pack warriors. ;;

I don't even know how much. Probably not a lot, like 5 or less depending on the card. I'm still confused about the card distribution. Does anyone know if some cards will be "rare" and others "common" or can we assume a pretty even, random distribution?
