How On Earth Do Some People Have Millions of Bells?!

I think Halation is right, your best bet for selling is Saharah items; or real art. Also non-orderable DLCs if you have extras. Those are things that a lot of people are still looking for.

Absolutely. I am hunting Saharah stuff. I usually see people asking between 200k-400k for Saharah stuff. I don't know how much the stuff at the 400k end actually sells. But I'm generally happy to put down 200k-250k per Saharah item no questions asked, as long as it's one I don't have, and I see others buying at that price too. Considering you get 1 wall and 1 floor for 3k, that's a huge profit if you net a Saharah-only one. But it's still a good price for the buyer too, because Saharah is so random that you can sometimes get NO Saharah exclusive items in a particular visit even with multiple characters (happened to me last week!).

I don't know how much real art goes for. I'm not hunting for online yet. I generally sell real art for 50k or so on my store, but it goes super fast. I could probably get more, and I've seen people ask for more, just haven't paid much attention to gauge "true" worth.

Unorderable holiday items and DLC, depending on which it is, can go up to 1 million bells EACH. Some of them have practically no demand though. I tried to sell a North America-only Autumn Moon wheat bundle and no one seemed to want it.

I've seen out of season Gracie stuff go for a lot sometimes, but now that people have realized they can TT to get it, the demand has kinda dropped off.

I heard there's no demand for gyroids, but I sold them very fast at the price of 10k each. Could probably ask more. There's people who like them, and others who are trying to collect them all for their catalog. Considering you can find them for free after it rains in game, no matter what you ask you get a profit.

I used turnips and I actually got a lot of bells! I stopped since I plan on using beetles since that's the easiest way of making half a million a day, or more if you're super selective/take lots of time

The easiest way, in my opinion, is to buy turnips at a really low price and find someone whose town is 500+. Another way people earn bells is my beetle and sharking hunting, selling popular villagers, and selling perfect fruit. : )

i have the bell boom ordinance and catch bugs on the island.

Ah, you know I forgot about this one -- a friend did this in the first month of her game and did really well. Since you (the OP) can't do turnips easily this may be your best option.

I make most of my bells from turnips and bug hunting. Also I'm really cheap, and so more often than not I'll just throw my bells into the bank. Of course, that's probably why I still don't have enough PWPs for perfect town yet....

idk if anyone said this but
a. beetle hunt
b. save your beetles . do not sell to re-tail
c. wait til tomorrow morning and keep resetting until you get a lazy camper
d. bam play a minigame with them and only have beetles in your pockets (and 5k bells) and if you win they will buy each beetle for 50k+

I've never had over 4 million bells at one time, and that 4 million was from selling a semi-popular villager. It was used to pay off all of my home loans, I'm down to about 1.2 million bells now.

I don't have time to farm beetles on the island or buy-and-sell turnips.

I have a lot of perfect fruit trees planted, and I sell the bushels of fruit in my fiance's town (mine is orange and his is apple) for 3k per orange.

I made a lot with turnips one time, but then the few weeks following that I either broke even or lost, so I gave up on turnips. If you can find someone with a different native fruit that will let you sell a locker worth of your towns perfect fruit- you can make quite a bit rather easily! :)

I've been lazy about it though and I've dropped below a million bells now since gracie opened up the other day

Turnips and bugs for me. Even this week having to scrounge around to find a place to sell turnips, I still made 1 million in turnip profits.

Is that right? I would love to try that.
Thanks for the tips

Island hunting and selling to lazy campers, mostly. That's what I did to get 5M in my old town.

I don't have anyone to cooperate with the turnip business, and trying at my town is a bit shaky.

Turnips is my main profit nowadays, but I used to make at least 500K a night just bug hunting. I knew what bugs were worth the most and took home a full basket of just those two bugs and sharks :3

Although I found it hard to believe at first, it's true and awesome. At night the Tortimer island contains beetles which sometimes sell for 2.000, 6.000 or sometimes 12.000 bells a piece. But they only appear at night and I never visited the island at those hours, until now.... *muwhahahaha* ;)

Them beetles also spawn very fast. While you are looking on the left side there are 2 new ones on the right side of the island!

Your grammar makes it look like beetles are sold for two, six, and twelve bells o.o
