How soon after a villager leaving, can we re-adopt them in NH?

I remember in NL there used to be a 14 (?) villager ‘cycle’ before you could re-adopt a previous villager but read this isn’t the case in NH.

So basically I try to get a poster for every villager I have that moves out, however Queenie has just moved out and didn’t realise I hadn’t taken her to Harv’s Island to get the poster option - ugh! But I’d like to get her poster the proper way rather than just buying it— so how soon can I move her back in, please? Do I have to get at least one new villager bbefore being able to take her again, or could I technically move her straight back in as the first replacement for her moving out?

I’m 99% sure you can just move her back in. There isn’t a cycle for New Horizons.

You can get them immediately back in.

I remember I had June and I let her leave. Then when I went Nook Island hunting, I saw June there again. Which means if you happen to see the villager you want island hopping, you can just invite them back. I did that with Celia because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep her, but then saw her on my island hopping and invited her right back.

However, keep in mind this won’t be the same villager (like the memories) if you get them “new” from an island. It will be the same villager, just not the same-same villager that has memories of your island.

However, if you let a villager be adopted by another person’ island and go get them back, the villager (since they were initially yours) will remember you. I did this with my Sherb and Audie to get them out of their initial homes and readopted them right after. The villagers mention being happy to go back to your island and that they missed you.

I once let go of my starter Fauna to get her fully decorated home & she was the first villager on my new hunt! I’m pretty sure there is no cycle in NH!
