I want to have a pattern with diagonal lines where they can match up and continue on for as far as need be but where the patterns are stitched together is just so obvious. I tried playing about but just can't get it to work, so I've attached the QR code if anyone wants to mess about or knows what on earth I'm doing wrong. :)

Try this one out.

It isn't perfect and you can still see the seams if you look at it hard enough, but it isn't quite as distorted as yours. I don't think you had the edges lined up correctly. You kind of have to visualize what your pattern looks like when it loops around to the other side.

Didn't know how to make sure it would line up, lol. Just tried your design and, come on, the seams are only a teensy bit visible and odds are that's down to the game's pattern rendering system being flawed. Going to put yours into http://thulinma.com/acnl tomorrow to try and see what the difference is and learn from it. :p

You deserve a big smiley face for all this! :)
Also, I get confused with years so wondered how you made 1511 posts in the space of -16 days.

Your version of the pattern has red triangles in both corners while mine has one red and one orange triangle. I think you were trying to make your lines 3 squares wide which doesn't work very well since patterns are 32 x 32 squares, so it doesn't divide up evenly. I made the lines 4 squares wide so that it divides evenly into 8 lines per pattern.

Here is an ASCII drawing of the pattern I made if you want to go off of that.

Ermigash, three replies in one... to two people!

Oh, okay! Didn't even notice the change in line thickness, especially with QR designs not being editable. :p

Gosh, you sure did go the extra mile. :/

try black and yellow because clearly you cant see red and orange together... they clash and color into 1

Hmm... they look okay to me but will experiment with colours if I get the time.

for things to loop you just have to make sure the lines meet up at a certain point, I always mark mine off before making patterns especially multi-tile patterns because it wont work if you don't pre-plan it out. Usually I'll mark on the sides where they'll meet before filling it in so that I know it will match up. Examples:

This is basically the point where it will wrap when you put it next to another, so when you match it up it will make a continuous design.(I don't know why there is so much white space...

Like so.

So with this "mapping" you can pretty much do any kind of design on it and it will still match up with the other side.

Even if it's a different kind of pattern, as long as you map it with and the dots match they'll match up.

I hope this was at least somewhat helpful..

Very cool, although odds are I won't be doing many designs that need to match up.

Hmm... you deserve a tip too! PNG will compress better than JPEG for stuff that aren't images or detailed drawings and will have no artefacts!
