Hi. I am still new to the ACNH game and I learned you can technically make villagers leave by ignoring them and such.

I have grown to dislike Stella and have ignored her for over a month but she won't leave. I tried to get visitors at the campsite to stay and switch places with her and they won't. I have tried "locking her in a cage" with fences but she seems to get out somehow. The fences are all around her front door with no wiggle room to escape.

I don't have any amiibos for the game nor online services. Can someone please give me advice or anything? She has had 3 thought bubbles but she just wanted to give me stuff I didn't want and got me excited for nothing.

Did Stella just move in? For some reason you can't kick out the villager if they're the most recent one to move in. If you want her gone, you're gonna have to first kick out another one of your villagers, and invite a new one.

Villagers can ask to move out regardless of friendship level, but it's a lower risk if the friendship with that villager is high. Hitting them with nets, ignoring them, or "locking" them in/out doesn't affect the friendship level. I'm not really sure how to lower the level, though.

Hope this helps, I'm not really good at explaining things. :v

Villagers deciding to move out is mostly random, and while I have no statistical data to verify it obviously, I've honestly found being friends with them actually seems to increase their chances of moving out more than just ignoring them. I've been ignoring Cyd for months, and the main thing that accomplishes is that he just won't talk to me, either. Meanwhile, all the villagers to whom I have the highest friendship points (as indicated by the fact that they have sent me their photos in the mail) have constantly expressed a desire to move out.

If nothing else, it's actually easier to just placate to their desires than to commit to completely ignoring them or to fruitlessly attempt to lower friendship levels by hitting them with nets and things like that. So even if it is just a placebo effect, it's still slightly less frustrating.

Is Stella the last villager to move in. The last villager to move in will not ask to leave. Ignoring villagers doesn’t help them move out faster. I find that villagers I talk to more ask to leave more often. Most of the time villagers asking to leave is random .

Ignoring doesn’t help. It’s just RNG. You’ll be better off finding an Amiibo card and using that. It’s the most efficient way. Having one card relieves you of so much stress kicking out villagers. I find it worth it in that regard…

To bypass the recent villager not being able to move, you can use an Amiibo. There’s a workaround.

Hurting your villagers with the net, pushing them on pitfalls, giving them things they dislike, or even ignoring them have no effect in any way. In fact, it's better to befriend them for a higher chance of them leaving.

I observed that villagers I chat often had asked to move out more often than those I've barely talked to.

Also, as mentioned by others, the last villager to move in cannot move out.

As others have said, if she was the last one to move in, she won't ask to leave.

One trick I've seen people mention is to ignore all thought bubbles on the rest of the villagers and wait until it appears on the villager you want to move out. There's a timer for when a villager will ask to move (something like 5-15 days) and if you say no to a villager you want to keep, that timer restarts. But if you don't talk to the villager, the next day the bubble should move to someone else. Keep ignoring thought bubbles until it appears over the villager you want to leave.

i agree with belle t. make super duper friends with your villager; get their photo, and Then they will want to leave soon after. ive had this same issue before. rocket wouldnt leave no matter how many times i hit her on the head with the net LOL! i friended her and BOOM! gone :)

No, she was the 5th one to join after Ketchup, Raymond and Rex when I restarted my island. I have been thinking about getting amiibo cards for a while but hopefully in December or for my birthday I will hopefully get some.

I haven't figured out how to get the photos yet but I have the posters to who attended Reese and Cyrus's wedding event.

I will try to be more friendly to her again I supoose. I have read so many different articles about this topic, half saying to whack them with the net over and over, shove them around the place, ignoring them, locking them in a fence cage around their houses and with the cards. So I don't know what to do but I will try being friendly to her again as stated. :)

Also, a side note, I have a full island, I have for over 2 weeks now. The last one to join the party was Norma, the cow.

You have to talk to the villager if you want to get them to leave. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to increase friendship points, but ignoring your villager will always have them at the "We haven't talked in forever!" stage.

You can do the campsite trick and reset whenever a campsite villager asks to move someone away. Whoever the campsite villager will replace depends on the RNG during the conversation and it saves after the convo, so as long as you don't exit the convo, you're free to reset your game to change whoever the camsite villager replaces.

Here's a more detailed guide! I really like this guide and it seems to be fairly accurate.

I recently had the same problem when I wanted to move Gala to my other island.Just about every other villager asked to move except for her so I tried to increase my friendship level with Gala by talking to her more, giving her expensive clothing and letting her visit my house.Shortly after the house visit she had the "I wanna move" thought bubble and now lives on my other island.Yeah, the RNG has a lot to do with who wants to leave but I think increasing your friendship level with that villager you want out will increase your chances.
