As we reach the 30 day mark to Breath if the Wild and the Nintendo Switch, I just wanted to make a little thread to ramble on about why we're excited so we can look back on it in a year or so and see what we were like, like a frozen piece history. Have fun!

I'm personally not getting the Switch day one. I probably will eventually, I hope-but the issues that (a)I literally got the Wii U FOR Breath of the Wild, (b)I can't afford it, and (c)the launch games aren't great-but, I am still very excited for it, as it is like a new successful chapter for Nintendo (I hope). So due to that, most of my rambling will be about Breath of the Wild.
I know that BotW wasn't really revealed until 2014 or so, but I've honestly been waiting for it since before the Wii U was even announced. That may not make sense, but let me explain. *Minor spoilers for Wind Waker* Ever since I played WW in 4th grade, I've wanted a Zelda like this. I got this feeling at the part when you go down to Hyrule, and you can see the fields and mountains, and it looks beautiful. BUT, you can't explore it, just look at it from a bridge. No other Zelda game had a Hyrule field like that of the underwater Hyrule in WW. I love TP, and I know it technically has a big Hyrule to explore, but it just didn't do it for me. Since that day, I've wanted a GIANT and expansive Zelda game were you explore a nearly limitless Hyrule, like that shown in Wind Waker. I also got this feeling when playing the top down Zelda's. They would always have fenced off areas, and especially as a kid, I just wanted to aimlessly explore.
That, personally, is why I am so hyped for Breath of the Wild. I feel like my inner childhood self will finally get to explore a sandbox-styled Hyrule.

Now we just have to wait... Only 2,505,600 seconds to go!

I am also getting Breath of the Wild for the Wii U. The controllers for the Switch look so awkward. When I saw a trailer for the game, I thought it looked a lot like Assassin's Creed how you could explore wherever you want and climb on a bunch of random things. I always found that part more fun than doing the story missions so I am excited to be able to explore Hyrule. I am also excited for the Link and Zelda amiibos. They are so detailed and pretty.

I actually like the Switch, in fact, I like it to much. I feel so betrayed because I just got a Wii U in 2015 :(
