"hype" Villagers

I agree - there are so many cute villagers! I love the uniqueness of each one and would never want my town full of "hype" villagers, let alone more than one hype villager (one only if I like them). I'd probably like Raymond, but if he seemed annoying I'd pass on him (I've never talked to him so I wouldn't know). I want a cat but there are others like Purrl I'd rather have. I want variation in personalities, and I already have my dreamy (Poncho).

I think the clown was hype for a while and he was the first to show up and I def turned him down because clowns are scary, lol.

I like Raymond. He kind of grew on me and I feel like his smug personality really suites him. But he's probably the only popular villager I'll have around, just because my other villagers suite me more on a personal level.

I haven’t been able to connect much with any of the new villagers. I really wanted Raymond when the game first came out. I even got him in the game, but he is no longer in my island. I don’t know I wasn’t really attached to him in person.

the prices are definitely a bit crazy but i feel like that’ll diminish a bit once the new villagers have amiibos of their own. but until then, since they’re considered rare rn, i can understand why the prices are pretty high aha.

still, 1k+ nmts for raymond is just,, yikes and don’t even get me started on people who are trying to sell villagers and in-game stuff for irl money.

I think people need to give the other villagers a chance because if they only focus on having those popular villagers on their island its going to get very tiring seeing the same ones on different islands over and over again. I've been to so many dream islands and I keep seeing these popular villages all over the place. I mean I am not against the people who have them but at least have more variety of villagers that don't get enough attention.

I totally agree, it's also why I like to just go with random move-ins. I got Gloria and Lopez that way and they turned out to be two of my favourites

I've encountered all the new villagers on the mystery islands, except Dom and Audie. I took in Sherb last year because he's so cute, but had to let him go. Raymond is currently on my island so I could experience what the fuss about him is all about. He looks like a stereotypical cool genius glasses guy in an anime, but other than that, he's okayish. I want Audie, but the island RNG hates me.

I also had Marshal for a short while but I had to let him go so I could have the best lazy boi Punchy.

Thats why I like random mive ins. I also let my villagers go if they want after I have obtained their photo on past islands unless they really resonated with me.
