I can't be the only one who feels like this, right?

It's been 8 (or 7) years since New Leaf came out, and that is a LONG time to be playing a game... the burnout can be real. When New Horizons was announced with Isabelle in Smash, I felt so excited knowing that I'd be able to experience that 'brand new start' feeling all over again.

Experiencing that unknown and fresh start in Animal Crossing and seeing where those experiences take you is an amazing feeling.

Me!! the feeling I had when first starting out new leaf was amazing, even though I only started around two or three years ago. I never really got to finish my new leaf town, but i'm glad that i'll be able to experience a full animal crossing game!! I can't wait to see all of the new things, and truly create an amazing island! <3

I also like that we'll all be starting off at the same point, so it'll add a lot of new mysteries and things to be discovered, hopefully i'll be able to make some amazing friends along the way!!

Me! I kinda got burnt out with New Leaf after 2018 or so but now with New Horizons I'm ready to get back on it!

Agree!! I still remember how I played Wild World and New Leaf for a first time, so I'm looking forward to making new fond memories.

It'll be a "whole new world," so don't you dare "close your eyes!" I'm beyond stoked for this new entry.

2018 is when I started experiencing massive burn out with New Leaf as well. I've tried numerous times to get back into it by doing different things I considered "new", but it just wasn't cutting it for me.

I’ve never played any of the games before New Leaf, so it’s the first time I’m going into AC with excitement and built anticipation!
On top of that, it’ll be really nice to start with everyone instead of being years behind (both in terms of progress and the initial hype) ⸍͕͈ ˕̫ ⸌͔͈

I honestly started becoming burnt out with NL around 2015-2016. I picked it back up a few times over the years for maybe a month or two but hated the process of resetting to change my layout 24/7 when I had new ideas.

I can't wait to have that same feeling I had when I got NL the day it came out and my first time playing wild world. Since we can do SO MUCH in new horizons I'm hoping it takes much longer for the burn out to happen for me ; u;.... I'll also have A LOT more time available to play new horizons so!!! I am very excited c:

I have high hopes for terraforming in New Horizons. My current plans seem great, but when I finally get around to finishing those plans.. in a few months time I may be wanting something else and I can start the process all over again. Possibilities seem endless, without the need of starting over.

I’m just disappointed that I never really had a town that lasted more than 3 months but I still had a lot of great memories with new leaf. Especially when it first came out. I had a few friends that i played with.

I hope I can play with some people in new horizons but I’m not that social on this forum anymore.

i played new leaf pretty addictively. i have over 500 or 1000 hours actually lmao.
i had made 3 towns, seaport, calypso and tadpole! previous towns were lovelorn and catown!
it was sooo much fun creating and landscaping, very thrilling and exciting. i had a lot of fun doing it.
as the days countdown for the release, it's really so exciting and reminds me what a lovely community this is to be a part of!

New Leaf is a great game, but yeah. It was definitely time for a new game in the series. I was always surprised that it took them so long to make another, but it's looking like a good thing that they waited so long. NH is looking to have so many new things to discover and do. It should be another AC game to keep us busy for a long time.

Yeah, and from I've seen in videos covering it.. almost everything has a 'progression' to it... even Able Sister's stock apparently! Really does look like your play time actually means something this time around.

Starting a brand new Animal Crossing game for the first time is a fantastic experience. Nothing can replicate it. Even starting over with a new town in the previous games is just not the same, to me.

i feel the same! i remember just how hyped i was for new leaf and i love feeling that way again c?:

I really wish I wasnt forced to restart my acnl town so much in the past, It definitly ruined that game for me.

Definitely know how you feel. My desire for perfection with my town with so much new knowledge of the games from joining these forums made me reset my town A LOT. The smallest thing would get under my skin, and cause me to reset.

New Horizons appears to pretty much mitigate all these issues, so here's hoping we don't restart every two months!

Games like AC are very unique in that the start of the game and the first few times you play it are the most interesting period of gameplay. Pretty much all other games are about advancing to the end and concluding the story and while there is no shortage of things to look forward to in this game, the greatest joy will be in exploring my new AC world for the first time.

Each "first" will be special. The first tree you plant, the first flowers you plant and then from there the first flower bed. To a large degree, no other game has kept me so interested in the NOW as AC. I think that's highly related to the feeling of exquisite calm one gets playing these games.

Sure I'll have plans for the future. But that's all dependent on what I do today. And not worrying so much about immediate goals...it's just so engrossing and relaxing.

OMG I need this game now.

I got burnt out on New Leaf kinda around early 2016 so I am very excited to get that new Animal Crossing feel again!
