I can't seem to get to 5 stars

Every time I ask Isabelle for pointers she says I need more flowers and trees, I've added more of both now she is just asking for flowers. Can someone help me, how do I get to 5 stars!!?!

i'm still at 4 stars and sometimes i'll get 3 stars because there's too many turnips on the ground uwu but for my perfect ACNL town i just added dozens of flowers and trees. Like even if you think you have enough flowers, YOU DON'T. I had like hundreds of flowers in ACNL and I didn't get a perfect town until I got that 19th pwp. It might be a little different for ACNH, but my suggestion is just take things to the extreme and even if you think you have enough trees, flowers, and items outside, you need to add more.

Flowers, Trees, and Shrubs should all be worth 1pt on the rating scale. Just keep adding some of each until she mentions something else. It's important to note she will complain if you have more than 220 trees, so careful on that.

Sorry OP! Seems like you resolved your issue, but yeah, having a ton of flowers is the secret. You can have a pretty undeveloped island with a ton of weeds and as long as you have a ton of flowers you will be at 5 stars, in my experience (this was true of my husband's island, he only decorated like half of it before getting bored, left most of his weeds to grow freely, and his flowers too, and he consistently had 5 stars).

IMO get 5 stars so you can get the reward, then don't worry about island rating, it seems to have very little to do with how good your island looks, and I bet yours looks great!

Ahh, that's a good point, i forgot about those. I think they look especially lovely in the winter landscape too . Kind of like snowbells (to my unknowledgeable self at least)!
