In the game, as we all know, your mom writes you a ton of letters.
I get a little teary-eyed, having lost my own mom suddenly a few months back.
Some of them DO make me smile, though, so there's that.

I'm so sorry for your loss. *hugs* I know how you feel. My own dad died a year ago. It always makes me sad when the Animal Crossing mom mentions my "dad" in her letters. I also felt sad when I played Earthbound a few months ago, and I had to call my "dad" in order to save the game. At first, I was kinda angry that game developers just assumed that everyone had both their parents, though I know that was just me grieving and being irrational. Again, I am so sorry about your mom. If you ever need to talk to someone who can relate, feel free to PM me.

I am so sorry for your loss. Do you think the game has helped with coping or made you even sadder? Hugs for you and your mom :)

Yeah I always think "what about the kids that parents aren't around?" But they probably thought the majority of kids have parents so idk. Lol

I feel like it helped somewhat but if I'm already having a "bad day" where I'm thinking about her a lot and then she sends me something. I wish the game had a feature where I could write her back, honestly. I feel like that would help me a lot.

I'm very sorry to hear that! I can't say that I know how you feel as I haven't lost anyone close to me yet, but I just wanna say stay strong <3 Just remember the good memories about your mother. ~

Why not try writing her a letter in real life and either keep your letters in a box with painful mementos to help disguise them from obvious view, or, write the letters and burn them. If you can't burn them just rip them up. It's a great stress relief. Also keeping a journal might help, so that if you have children then they can read about her, you can get your feelings out and still keep all your memories of her. Often when someone dies the initial hurt is from the unknown. But later on the hurt is unable to do things or know things about the person, which gradually becomes a fear of forgetting them. Just write it down and you won't forget.
My best wishes, you're an amazing person. I sometimes feel like we all forget people on the internet have lives too...

I'm so sorry about your loss! I grew up without a mother, so I kind of understand your pain (although I cannot compare both situations). Seeing "Mum" send letters can be a bitter moment sometimes...

I'm sorry about your loss =( I lost my mom when I was 15, so I get sad sometimes when I receive those letters too. Hugs for you.

I'm so sorry. I've wondered about whether the letters from "Mom" were painful to players who had lost their mothers or had very bad memories of them.

Maybe you could "reply" in-game by writing them to another player character in your town or to a villager you'll never let go of? I've never done this but I have sometimes sent memos to myself by mailing them to another player character.

I hope the next ac game won't have a mom because she annoys me

They make me a bit teary too. I lost my mamma about a year ago. I'm so sorry for your loss.
