I got Doom because of New Horizons XD

So I am in love with the friendship between Doom Guy and Isabelle soo much and how supportive both fan bases have been towards each other. I've never played Doom before but I got curious and saw the trailer for Doom Eternal and I am sold. In the meantime, I got Doom 2016 ^_^ I'm hoping Nintendo will reciprocate the love Doom devs have been giving ACNH. It's so freaking sweet. Imagine an AC reference in Doom and some kind of Doom costume or item in New Horizons.

Is anyone else here into this unlikely crossover? Is anyone here going to give Doom a chance because of it? I'm really enjoying Doom 2016 rn ^_^

I am not into the Doom games, but my husband is and I was just showing him some Doom Guy/Isabelle memes earlier! <3

I would love seeing a reference in NH, or having a ACNH reference pop up on my husband's Doom!

yeah lol i just bought doom (1993) and doom 2 on switch today partly because they were less than 5 dollars total, and partly because i'm a victim of marketing ploys i guess

It's not weird at all. The juxtaposition alone of these two games releasing on the same day sets up the perfect marketing opportunity. I'm a fan of both, but will only be playing one.

I understand the juxtaposition, I have just never seen people make memes or comment about very different games released on the same date before. Things like this happen all the time.

I love this crossover, hahaha. I don't play FPS these days but I grew up playing the original DOOM, and I enjoyed watching my partner play the 2016 one. Such a great modernization of the original! It looked super fun. I'm looking forward to watching him play the new one too.

We've been joking about March 20th, because we'll be sitting in our apartment together playing these two games side by side.
